Right then, this thread is long overdue an update!

I took the car off the road on 14th October, as a problem arose with the intercooler water pump (common on these cars - the bushes in the pump wear out). Basically it wasnt pumping all the time (which it should do as it is an electric pump)

To get to the pump (front passenger side, front of wheel arch), the inner arch liners need removing, and it is a hell of alot easier with the front bumper off, so I removed this too. To get the bumper off, the headlights need removing, and while I was at it, I also removed the wings

Once stripped, I changed the pumps over:









Then started the car up, and there still wasnt a flow of coolant into the header tank

Turned out there was an air lock, had to take one of the top hoses off and literally pour coolant in at the hose until it overflowed

Then got this:



Well happy!

That was just before christmas, so now it is done, its time to freshen up everything I have uncovered whilst stripping the car, then put it all back together for spring

Going to paint up tired looking parts (including intercooler rad), and replace with new where applicable

Also going to get the front bumper resprayed as it is covered in stone chips

Finally, I got a solar trickle charger to maintain the battery, £10 from maplins, excellent piece of kit

Good to see its getting some TLC and little problems sorted too.

I see its suffering slightly from the good old ford cancer - rust. Doesn't look good bad though, that'll all scrub off as it's probably just on the surface. Gives you an excuse to paint it all up

Bargain on the battery charger too!
