just no ones ever explained to me what it is, and ive not bothered to learn other makes since i was 17 lol and had my first ford

i reckon what percy said is totally untrue, any performance car has the potential to be a money pit, weather it happpens to go wrong alot of if your inclined to pour money into it

look at skylines and supras, more of a pit than a cossie imo

By all means you are correct all performance cars can turn into money pits (hence why I stay away from them).

But as said jap cars generally are made to take the abuse, with that a more modern ford (volvo) performance car would be ok.

Newer fords do seem spot on, I think overall the zetec is reliable but standard power out put should really be better, especially the 1.6, cvh's were good but reliability wasn't

Only reason my bottom end died was due to the previous owner letting the sump pan rust away, leak and letting the engine run bone dry at times. Still, even after I had it and it was smoking like hell, it lasted 7k and still made book power :lol:

all this jap talk is making me sick

its a good thing them vtec engines make mounds of revs because they have sod all torque, i wouldn't trust one to pull a caravan

it would end up going backwards down the hill :lol:
