id appreciate a mod to clean all this ranting up

the money paying delay was a big thing no one wanted, i had no job and couldnt pay for it, he shouldnt have given it to me, we both learned our lessons, i got paid today first pay that wasnt taxed mentally (2nd pay for this job) and ive paid the chap the money i owed him, ive paid for my new escort completely and its sitting in my garage


little update on it, for 136k it drives very well, it was waiting for me on a delievery truck soon as i got home, give him the rest of the £240 notes and the log book was signed

after playing witht he fact its an estate, got her skirt up, it needs either a new driver sill, or a rather lengthy sized plate welded in, ill check prices of sills and will decide

a passengers wishbone as suspected, the brakes are quite shot, so ill pop a spair set on that i have, same 240mm's nothing fancy

and a repalcement backbox as ive got nothing but the pipe it was connected to

someones disabled the aircon, removed the pully and used a non aircon belt,b tu the pump and pipe work remains

needs new coolant as it looks dry, plenty of rusty colour grot in there too

and the pas fluid is low, the engine could do with a service, even a timing belt as i hear theyre popular faisl on these, and i aint risking it for the sake of about £20


once these are done ill put her in for the mot and tax her if shes passes :)

Sills are are only gonna be about £20 at the most mate.
Wishbones - I got 2 for £25 on ebay
Brakes - Simple fix
Backbox - again easy
I wouldnt bother messing with the aircon, I can near enough garentee the aircon rad is shot anyway
Coolant / PAS / Service is an easy one
Timing belts have a habit of going on these.. I hate changing them, because they run 2 belts, I could do with doing mine being at 158,000 but I'm too lazy :lol:

lol i have considered it, its no louder missing it, so its just a case of getting the fumes away from the car


none the less ive ordered a new box for it, relevant car, pair of wishbones with nuts/bolts also in the post

just the sill to do now and its ready for the test


confused about the belt now haha

If you havent done a belt before, I wouldnt pick this engine to do your first one.
Get the timing wrong on the pump and its a pain in the arse

Not really
One goes from crank and drives waterpump and cam, and the other goes from crank to run the diesel pump
Then you have the aux belt for the alt/pas/ac

new calipers next to the old, left escort, right puma (fiesta also)

knackered gaiter, im struggling to remember how you get new ones on, doesnt the driveshaft have to be removed from the hub then the spider unions taken off and slot the gaiter over? and repack with high velocity grease?

completely shot discs, worn down, and very odd uneven wear front and back, bak has mountains on it!
stil cant understand how it can be caused, i always swap the whole setup to avoid it (including calipers)
passengers werent soo bad, but discs were both seized on the hub

on but not bled, interesting fact, the banjo fitting escorts use works on the fiesta/puma/ka calipers, but if you have 13" wheels id not recommend it as the pipe coming off it goes straight up and would confer on the wheel, the 15" wheels hits has is more than fine though

battery is now disconnected ready for the welding, the bad rot ont he sill is cut out, the inner sill has been reust teated, i know it aint the best way but it will have to do, i might squirt some crude/used oil over the insides of here, but im scared it will ignite when im welding :rolleyes:

looks cool man.

with the cv boot.

remove the shaft from hub
cut the old boot off.
clean the joint.
you need cone sort of thing with lots of grease onto it.
put the new boot onto the cone inside out
slide it up the cone and over the joint like
turn it back inside out/outside in if you get me
pack the joint with new grease then cable tie or clip the boot on.
