Yeah the car has been a proper nightmare but coming through the other side now.

Picture updates as promised (even though a bit late)

Sills first (this is after my repair)
For before pictures

This one was in the middle and up in the corner but didn't get a pic of the corner bit on drivers side.
Image
1 part on the passenger side.
Image

Bottom sills (never been welded and were all intact bar some surface rust in areas that got removed)
Image
Image

Got fed up with the wheels one week and ended the week with them looking like this
Image

Fog lights sorted!
Image

The tow bar is still there but freshened up with a coat of black, also hit the exhaust with that black :P
Backlights are no longer clear but tinted. Need an updated picture from last weekend already
Image
Also has clear side repeaters on at the moment. Waiting on some orange bulbs for them though.

My newest project. Started today with an electric sander. Sanded back then primed.
Image
Image

I also got a spare set of bumpers to get on the car once I've worked on them a bit to get them looking perfect.
That'll be happening at some point in September after my holiday.

its looking ok.
What its lost in rust its picked up in car park dents. :x
just doing it a bit at a time and when the new front bumper goes on i get to tackle my final nasty looking piece.

I'll certainly be glad once its done but I've learnt a hell of a lot since buying it.

Thanks.
Bonnet is finally evening up after 5 1/2 cans of spray.
The last 1/2 a can is the final light coat for it which I'm about to apply shortly. Then I'm going to lacquer it tomorrow. Wish me luck

Its not quite rust free yet. There is a bit by the n/s wheelarch that I'm going to try and fight back against when the bumpers get changed.
There is also a bubble over the o/s rear wheelarch and a tiny spread of bubbles. Like paint chips over the n/s rear wheel arch.
The 1st one is the worse and has started to much metal behind the bumper so the sooner I get at that the better. The other 2 are surface so easily rectified :)

I'm determined to get the bonnet done for ford fair and when I get determined I can normally get it done :D

So this is day 4/6 with the bonnet.
It has had it first few coats of lacquer and is going to get another 3 thin layers tomorrow.

Spend is £60 on tools and paint. I'm factoring the bonnet itself at £40 as it was brought with a few other bits (both bumpers £25 each, clear side repeaters and tinted backlights £10)
So for a budget DIY jobbie its looking good. Will look better in 2 weeks when I can work on evening the colour once the lacquer is 'fully set' rather then just set.

Pictures of it today, brought in due to the storm.

The shine and reflection is developing as the lacquer is layered on also it is still not set yet so still developing overnight till tomorrow when I try to correct any funny areas. :)

Thankfully I'm not living at mums or she would have killed me

Bit annoyed last layer on the bonnet (of laquer) and it runs! not even in an area that I could maybe get away with but right in the middle :x
It could be worse but I'm going to be forever seeing that bit now.
Not sure if I should put it on the car tomorrow or not now...

Bonnet is on the car have some pics of it to stick up soon hopefully.
Also has a mk4 rear wiper arm (guess where that came from ;) )
and new blades on the front. Looking much better.
Also changed certain parts of the sound system in the car as 'mine wasn't quite upto scratch' according to someone :squint:
The boxes were bloody heavy and I had to carry them back from the pioneer stand at ford fair back to where the cars where. My arms are still killing me now

Today had the door card off as the piece of :x window had stopped working on the n/s.
Wiring Again! this car really hates me recently.
