yes its still required. fiestas used M10 bolts througout the production run...although they did change the size of the head about halfway through the bolt is still the same size.

Today I removed the 1.6si loom that was buggered all over the place.
Image

Laid it next to a near perfect 1.6si loom.
Image

I say near perfect.Had to remove and replace a few broken plugs and repair the audio loom from where it was bodged. *why are all audio looms cut up :(*

Cleaned and sanded down the face of the block to remove the old gasket.
Image

Removed the crankshaft.Degreased it so it was nice and clean ready to be refitted with new bearings.Cleaned all surfaces of where the bearings are to be fitted.
Image
Image

Fitted the new standard sized bearings in the block.I did apply assembly lube onto the inner side of the bearings and refit the crankshaft but didn't take pictures.

Spent 3hrs on the car tonight after work,Managed to fit rear braided hoses, radiator, radiator hoses, radiator fan, engine bay loom, new starter motor power cables and earth cables. Plugged in all the plugs and sensors including the fuel pump plug and refitted the fuel tank.Fitted a battery but it was dead.

The good news which really made me smile is the battery had enough juide to allow the starter to click so least I know the loom is all plugged in right :D

Moved my old Si shell from the back garden onto the front lawn this evening ready to be scrapped,Its damn hard to move as the wheels point wherever they want to as theres no steering rack fitted lol

It was here...
Image

Now here...
Image
Image

Ended up dragging it out using my van and adjusting the length and postions of the towing rope many times to get the desired drag on the car.Managed to get it where I wanted it in the end.Its going to be picked up and scrapped one day next week.

Then I moved my trailer into the space where the Si shell was.I Will be moving the trailer to the back of the garden when it comes time to build my spray booth though
Image

Well thats the Si shell off to be scrapped.

My 300mm calipers are back from being fully refurbished by BiggRed.Really really impressed with the service i recieved  I know now why I couldnt fit my seals lol Somehow I was trying to fit them in the wrong way :worried: I swear I was fitting them in the same way as I took the old ones out but obviously not

Image
Image
Image

Powder coated black,Brand new seals,New nipples,All threads cleaned and the piston has been cleaned inside and out.Basically its like brand new  All for £120 including next day delivery back to me.

Well today I left the new lady in my life in bed and set about working on the fiesta lol like she would wanna help anyway  ok ok I went to the shops first and bought her breakfast

First thing I did was fit my new 300mm brakes, then I flushed through the brake lines and did a pressure test to check for any leaks...Glad I did aswell! Found a crack in one of the rear brake lines underneath the exhaust heat shield. I popped over to my xr2i in the garage and removed the line off of it and proptly fitted it to the white fiesta  Did another pressure test and yeay no leaks lol

Used an easy bleed type one man bleeder device and a spare wheel to bleed my brakes,First time I've ever bleed brakes so I'm quite happy it all went well without any hiccups.

Anyway I fitted Four 3mm spacers and my Cougar alloy wheels,Checked all my tyre pressures and my torque settings,Lowered the car onto the ground and then took it for a spritely drive up the road

Well there you have it,She lives! First time I have ever driven that car and after a long time of driving a 1.8 derv van I must say it felt rapid lol Even if it isn't and its only a 1.6 zetec.

Oh and damn 300mm brakes work well!

What do you think of my silver/black colour combo?I quite like it
