I think the off putting part is (unless your inside a well lit garage) it going dark early, when you finish work and its pitch black then all you wanna do is go bed lol

This afternoon I removed the tank and filler neck.

Ripped out the shitty rusty bits off the inner fuel panel.. decided I need to bodge it to stop water and shit getting in my boot.

Found a road sign in my shed, cut that down, bent it abit.. cut a hole for the filler neck... and used a tube of seam sealer to seal it onto the remaining bit of the arch.

Also filled 2 holes in the boot with the same method.

I'll weld up the boot properly in the new year when I have some gas. And the inner panel might get done in a year or so depending what I do with the car, as that will mean rear quarter and other bits doing at same time.


Left the car overnight to let the sealer dry, then the new tank with cossie fuel pump can be fitted, then I can brim it

Other jobs to do soon are adjustable wishbones, and sort the exhaust position and weld some new hangers, weld the exhaust flexi to stop it blowing.

You do have a fair point... it has lasted a long while as a bodge by the bodyshop.

Here are 2 pictures... I've not finished yet as I need to seal around the filler neck, give it all a load more seam sealer and the underseal it all.




Also, got the new tank with cossie pump on, working fine and dandy.

Really need to get the exhaust sorted though... the blowing isn't a major issue as I know why its doing that... but the midbox keeps twatting the tank... might just fuck it off and live with abit more noise
