No deadline as such for the engine, I am basically going to make it look new as I dont like the red boy racer block and blue injector rail lol... also going to get some bits and bobs for it over the next couple of weeks, just need a few parts and then ill get some time off work and plonk it in bascially. Going to spend the most of tomorrow stripping all the paint off and painting it I think and also spray a few other bits up too. Need to do a bulk order of paint I think lol.

Yeah lower arms are piss easy, its just getting time to do them at the moment, thats the killer!

I've said plenty of times, 120 - 140 is more than enough for any 21 yearly old

Gonna be quite painted up then lol, why not upgrade the servo while the engines out, make the most of them huge 280s :)

180 is mental, and if Dtec is at the meet today 160/160 should be mental in a ZS!

I look foward to seeing your engine progress :) Like I say if i'm around i'll give you a hand with it!

Power isnt really that much in all fairness, ive driven much more powerful cars through my career, also driven friends and family members cars which are more powerful, the fact that its that much in a fiesta makes the difference. Power to weight ect. Its like the kit cars with pinto engines, them engines arent all that great, dont push out that much power, but in a car that weighs pretty much the same as a bag of sugar, its insane.

I dont agree with the statement on the power being enough for a 21 year old, 1) because im 22 ;) :P and 2) its all to do with driver skill and other things like how fast your brain can process and react to things. There is no point getting all technical and scientific and causing mass crap in my thread about shit like that because I will just get it removed. So enough of that.

Servo doesnt really need upgrading IMO. The brakes can stop the car no problem, sometimes they are too powerful, even ask Toby who had it before me, he will tell you how good they are. People believe that bigger brakes requires a bigger servo and most of the time they are wrong. When you start adding HUGE brakes which require mass amounts of effort to make work due to the amount of brake fluid that needs shifting to operate all the pistons, thats when its required, the fact that most people put bigger brakes on and dont even change the brake fluid and/or bleed them properly is what makes people think the servo is crap. Lack of understanding and poor installation comes to mind straight away.

Of course a bigger servo will help, but its not always needed if you do things properly :)

Also, I haven't forgotten about that MAF sensor Jonny, I will pop over to my garage in a bit and get pictures/numbers for you boyo :)

Sound thanks, servo I meant the fiesta one is crap, applies little force and people this k its the calipers, swap them first, when if they don't the servo first they'd see a massive improment on standard. Brakes, I'd wager my 260 and escort servo set up would act as well as a 280 set up

Power wise is in realation to the time spent driving, I know 4 years lyour pretty clued up, but there's the money issue eg insurance, fuel bill etc

Ive been 22 since 1st october lol.

I've just been researching the MAF sensor numbers, which are:

93BB-12B579-BA
AFH60-02A
J7M25

Some say its mondeo, some say escort, even puma 1.7 popped up, also transit, galaxy, scorpio... lol. I think its one of them ones which could be used for a various amount of cars, so I will text Dave the guy who I got the engine off and find out what engine its from, its its deffo a 1.8 item you can have it. Idealy I want an ECU and MAF from the same car so I doubt I would use this anyway, althought if its a 2.0 item, it could be good for a spare, so I shall let you know the outcome soon as I know :)

So a small update...

The 1.6 engine in the car is fucked. Thats the technical term too. Basically its losing/drinking water and slowly using oil.

Water side of it - headgasket failure. I know this because...

1) I top it up everyday
2) Exhaust was blowing, took it apart put some silicone sealant in there even though it didnt really need it, started the engine with only the downpipe on it to piss off the neighbours and to make me slightly happy, water pissed out the downpipe.
3) It likes to pour out white smoke from the exhaust for a when first started up in the mornings or after its been standing for a few hours.

Oil side of it - could be piston rings, valve stem seals... who knows. At the end of the day I needs topping up every few months. It was literally dry the other day :( I noticed a clunk when I started it up and thought 'turn it off, check oil' so did it instantly, and wahey, no oil in the engine.

So the engine is fucked, luckily I have the 2.0 engine sitting in the garage which hopefully is mechanically very sound. Just need HO/RS1800 inlet, 2.0 MAF and ECU. Then I think its good to go in. I could technically slap it in there with the 1.6 stuff but I dont see the point doing that because it will run like a bag of shit and I would still have to faff around putting the other bits on which I would rather do while its out and have it all sorted in the car and running perfectly.

Idealy I want to put a new cambelt and clutch on the engine too, also water pump ect. So that needs doing. Money is the main issue really.

Also, my rear wheel bearing is fucked, again, think its the other side this time compared to last.

And I lost half my splitter from the bumper, dont know where either lol.

Update complete :)
