Ok, Here we go. WHAT A DAY!

So I go to the scrap yard, after finding some top hats that looked right, I tried undo-ing the bolts, No good. Then my friend comes over and does it easily.. I was doing it the wrong way  Then he says "hang on there welded to the floor" So we get out and try to find more, No good. Go back to the first one and rip up the carpet, Two more bolts  undo those, get the top hats. Sorted

Back to my house, Rip out both seats. Whack in the top hats, whack in the subframes, then tried putting the seats on.. hmmm Dosen't seem to line up. Take the seat out and theres bolts in the way, so we take those out and then try again, seats wouldn't go on for some reason, So we decide to take out the frames and whack them on the seat out of the car. So it turns out where the bolts go, theres a thread in each hole  you cant screw two bolts on the frame to two threaded holes in the seat
So after drilling out the threads, we tried fitting the subframe, and one god damn bolt wouldn't go in. Refitted my normal drivers seat :sigh:

So went and collected my other seat and frame from my mates garage, and fitted the passenger recaro with no problems :S
Then tried doing the drivers seat, while drilling we kept getting sparks which was fun  eventually all sorted and that same bolt wouldn't go into the seat far enough to put the nut on! Grrrrr. :banghead:

Eventually we bodged it, i'll admit it, We whacked a Jubilee clip on and tightened it solid. It's actually pretty good, dosen't move at all, so there secured in, the seat went in and i'm mega happy

Just annoyed the airbag light is on :( I don't know enough about pre-tensioners to figure out how to sort them out and put them on the Recaro's.

the 3.5 runners should go on no problem just gotta thread it though then put the nut on the other side and use a ratchet spanner to tighten the nut up. i wouldnt keep them jubilee clipped in! lol

look good though never seen them in a mk5. with the airbag light just take the bulb out.

Nah they wouldn't go on no problem as there was thread in the holes that the screws were meant to go in, the screws had thread as well. And theres no way of putting two fixed screws and spinning them into the thread, so I had to rid of the thread in the holes, then one screw wasn't long enough for some reason and just wouldn't show enough thread for the nut to go on.
Its a pretty large solid clip so it shouldn't break in a hurry until I figure something out,
Tried taking the bulb out but I couldn't get to it probably would need to take the steering wheel off to get to the speedo clocks properly :(

Good day.. But took 6 damn hours!

How would I go about bridging them? Was thinking about sticking a paper clip in each socket or something  Hard to get to the bulb without taking off the steering wheel :(

Nooo I know there not the wrong frames. and the top hat thing is fine, wasn't your fault ( although it was only 4 bolts :P)
But if they came out of an si maybe there slightly different, Its hard to explain but theres two bolts welded into the subframe, with threads, and two holes in the seat the bolts go into, but the holes were threaded? :S So you can obviously spin each bolt into each hole as there on a subframe which is solid and as there welded in they don't spin themselves. Thats why I had to drill out the thread on the seat to get the threaded bolts into the subframe. No idea why one corner didn't line up after that :(

At least there in and they do look good :D Thought they'd be mega out of place and there commmmmfy :D

Being on jury duty I don't really have a bedtime, and don't have to get up early, and don't have to do much  So find myself with a lot of spare time. So if anyone has any ideas for the car (free ones, im skint!)

But yeah, got a mate over, and we whipped off the cam cover, cleaned it up a little bit (Cheers dave) with white spirit. wasn't actually a very good clean, but i'm well pleased with how its turned out! Once its dry in the morning I'll whack it back on and take some better pics :) Really did think it was gonna look crap and not be a good colour, but it looks great imo :)
