thing is, ive owned 3 fiesta sis, one of which had coilovers, ive driven jonys as well and the sportka which has toyos all round on it, and they definately not as good through the bends as the ignis, its the best car ive ever had for cornering.. i know its an ugly box, but as a drivers car its fucking awesome lol, speeds it can do round bends is nuts, ive shit myself plenty of times in it, its a difficult car to find its limit of grip lol

even when i went from fiesta to the arosa, it straight away felt much better on the road, that thing handles well, used to be up my mates arse round bends and he had a zetec s on coilovers and toyo tires, all i had was gmax shocks and springs lol, but ask kris elward how well the ignis handles compared to it, we had a play once and he said the arosa was just understeering whereas the ignis just kept gripping and turning in, and kris is fucking good driver as well, he had me holding on before, lol and i dont tend to get scared haha

yes the ignis is amazing...... :hsugh: :P look i'm not knocking the ignis - i'm sure it handles well (looks are not my cup of tea like you said!) - and goes well for a 1.5, but i kept a 280bhp evo 4 behind the sportka without breaking much sweat until we got on a dual carriageway where it obviously buggered off!

i'm not saying the sportka is the best handling car in the world either but i know it would whoop a mk3/4/5 fiesta easy. If evo rate the sportka well - and most other car magazines - i'm inclined to say it handles well.

It's more based on a puma/fiesta mix - as evo put it - it's a true parts bin car ;) and the puma is very highly regarded for handling :) - the steering feel, grip, lack of roll have all been noted as superb :)

and also - the guy with 128bhp said there is room for maybe 135bhp but the mapping would make it a bit less driveable low down so he's stuck to 128bhp as it's only 7 less - and also someone on FK-OC has bolted a turbo running 10psi on the sportka lump and that when mapped will be around 160bhp ;)

i'm not a nutcase - at the comments from danny + chris - but i can throw a car around - there were cars i kept with in the "slow" fiesta ST that i shouldn't have :) - ask mole - especially when it had 4 paradas on it :)

only joking petal :teehheee: :gheeyyy:

oh and auto express:

"On the road, the car feels slower than the figures suggest, and while the retuned suspension does a decent job of keeping everything in the right place through bends, it doesn't have the fluid feel of a Ford Sportka or Citroen C2."

oh and im not slating the sportka, i love them to bits..

or im not saying they handle bad, quite the opposite infact they are one of the most fun cars ive ever driven.

all im saying is having driven both, the ignis handles better... and you cant really comment on that as you havent driven both.

;)

it's just the way you sounded dan - "you'll have no chance in the twisties - trust me" - does seem a bit slaty :)

 @ jony reference

no car is perfect - that's my point - the sportka (and i have driven a fair few cars in my time  ) is one of the best handling car's I have driven :) - keeping an evo behind me was fun though

130bhp 8v Engine would be fun i bet - but i really cba with the hassle of getting everything done to the ka

also I never said the ignis handled badly - i've been behind a couple in country lanes in my st and i'm fully aware of their handling even if i haven't driven one ;)

the car is only half the way to having a good handling car - if i had cheap shitty tyres on the sportka and likewise if you had budgets - the chassis is wasted and power won't be put down - blah blah etc  - same goes for a driver - you can have the best handling car in the world but if you can't drive it properly it's wasted. Sam, Scamp, Mole - can all vouch for limit finding in my fiesta st  -

I'm not slating the ignis at all either - I just don't want the impression that it is the best handling car in the world left on the thread

that auto express article was a joke really - i knew you would bite :P :lolz: - steering feel is different driver to driver -

and you also said sportka's go through lower arms every year - mine's had the same since new ;)

i hope for your sake percy doesn't see your C2 comments :lolz: :lolz:
