Cheers Dave. I built that baby from the ground up It was so much fun to drive too, it was built for acceleration and track use rather than top speed due to the rear diff gearing. I cant remember what the top speed was, but it would get you there in literally fuck all time. Smashing through all 6 gears in the space of 10 seconds easily

Hopefully Chris' car will come out looking fucking awesome next week!

It sure is Dave. Kit cars in general are good fun to drive. Especially when they are chucking out near 190bhp from a blacktop zetec engine!

One day I will build my own one, or my own Ultima GTR. But that wont be until I've got a lot of money

Have always loved kit cars, think I will build one in the future when I have more time and better facilities for it

They are insanely awesome cars. My old boss had one and it was pushing out over 700bhp. That thing was QUICK! They are like the ultimate kit car in terms of performance, handling and everything. I only ever got to have a passenger ride in that, but it's all I needed lol.

Time and facilities is a big thing with kit cars. LOTS of time. All depends how anal you are really. We had some come in which you would honestly think a 5 year old built it. But then people just don't have the right tools sometimes, nor the knowledge. But it's something worth doing one day for sure!

So prep started yesterday! Was rather amusing, took much longer than it should have due to some rather mature neighbours but hey!

Fitted my new race pads and gossssh they are bad lol didn't realise they'd be quiet so bad before being hot! lol

sprayed up, just used silver hammerite colour match tbh isn't too bad, would look good with some lacquer and a good blend in and polish but not going for perfection just usable.

Just so everyone knows as the pictures don't show it too well, the rust was ground back to bare metal in all places. The dark patches are just where the rust has made it dark instead of shiney. Then it's been filled and sprayed. Of course the rust will come back over a long period of time but its much better than what it was like. Pictures dont do it justice really.

Flash might make this look worse? Not sure... Wait until Chris puts a day time pic of it up... Considering its just some silver hammerite paint rather than actual ford paint its not a bad match! I think of we had done it properly with ford paint and blown it in to the rest of the panel it might have looked pretty damn spot on!
