I am also liking this news, well I was until I got the MOT failure sheets...plural
So, failed on a missing centre seat belt (which had come out to make way for my harness point ) and excessive corrosion at all four corner suspension mounting points, excessive corrosion at all four corner seatbelt mounting points, excessive corrosion on the O/S/F wing, a number of excessive corrosions on the sill, and the handbrake being pish as the rear discs have rusted up.
Funnily enough they have declared the car dangerous to drive...not due to the numerous excessive corrosions but due to the fact the handbrake doesnt work

So, I've gone and done the sensible thing which I had to do, it took me a long time to decide on it but the deed is now done....


















Yup, I've bought a welder and I'm gonna have a bash at fixing her up

keep the updates coming

Well the updates are as follows:

1) I've come to my senses and decided that its to much to fix for a first time welding project so my little Ghia is going to the garage in the sky
2) That means I have some 5 door sills and rear arch repair panels going spare if anyone needs them?!?
3) I've completed lost my senses again and bought a proper 3 door Si which I have just driven back home from High Wycombe!

It wasn't the most pleasurable drive of my life as the O/S/R bearing is on its last legs and the front brakes are seized on so at anything other than between 72 - 78mph it was a horrific droning bag of shite! But at those speeds it was just about bearable!

Will update more later this week once I get some photos and get reading through what ever bumpf is with the car but for anyone that interested it was this one...

Right, that's me just home from the British Grand Prix and I've got my Dads birthday meal to go to (oh, and buy him a present ) so cheerio for now.

Well, as you can all guess by the lack of Si's at Ford Fair I never got it done in time.

New deadline, Ford Live at Knockhill on the 30th August.
So, want the engine swapped, Wilwoods on, Coilovers on and buckets in for then.

Should be doable I guess, but we will see!

I changed over the O/S/R wheel bearing so that's better now just everything front end to sort.
Oh and I noticed that one of the rear ARB brackets has snapped so I'll need to swap that over too!

Well, I haven't updated this for a while so thought I had better at least say something...

The old Fiesta has finally been collected and gone off to be turned into a small rusty box!



And I have put the Si through an MOT, which is failed fairly spectacularly!!...but only on stuff that I knew about and was planning to change anyway (front brakes, lower arm bushes, CV boot etc etc) plus two little bits of welding on one sill.

So, now the drive is clear I'm going to get the coilovers on and brakes changed to the four pots. Put on the lower arms from the old fiesta when re-building along with the new driveshaft I have to sort the CV boot. Change the rear ARB bracket and get the garage to do the welding at the same time as doing the MOT.

Then the fun will start, I'll get the seats out and strip the interior, leaving everything still in and drive to the local dump. Empty the car of everything bar the drivers seat and come back. Set up the coilovers for the reduced weight and then strip out the inside properly (sound deadening, door cards, maybe even holes in the bootlid etc). as well as little bits and pieces like the steering wheel and bonnet catches.
Polybush the rear beam, and try to tidy up and paint any bits I can whilst under neath to keep her looking fresh and try to keep the rot away!

Going to get a set of polycarb windows in the new year to get rid of the electric motors etc.

Also going to build up the 2.0 in the garage. Fit ARP rod bolts, new clutch and fit straight cut box on, baffle one of my sumps, de-cat one of my cats and work on the throttle bodies!

Not going to set a deadline as I'm shit at keeping them lol but will update as and when something happens

Sooo.....I said I would update when something happened...and true to my word I've done bugger all so therefore updated bugger all lol

But alas, do not fear as I have now done something to the car so can update where I am.

I got a few hours on it last sunday so got the nearside four pots on and got the old suspension strut out. Couldnt get it strippedto get teh bearing and cup off as I found out I had cut my angled 19mm spanner down in order to make an 18mm angled spanner that I can put a bit of pipe on for the crankshaft bolt! so I bought a new one through the week.
Took out the offside strut and stripped them both down and built up the coilovers on Wednesday and then today I fitted them both and the other four pot along with changing out the driveshaft!

So, tomorrow will hopefully get the lower arms changed over and bleed the brakes then I can get it back on the front wheels and then get the rear coilovers on and change the rear ARB bushes then just need to book her in for another MOT.

On the plus side the TSW wheels clear my four pots with bags of room so I'm going to stuff the track tyres in the car when it goes for the MOT and get them fitted onto those wheels

In other news I've sold this house and bought another one which has a slightly bigger garage so the plan is for the Fiesta to live in the garage and that means I can work on it much more often!! so hopefully progress will be brisk from May time which means she should be a bit of a weapon come Ford Fair.

Speaking of which, when is the thread for Ford Fair going up as I have already bought my ticket and want a stand pass as going by the last two years i'll probably be the only Si there lol

In true me fashion I couldnt be arsed taking pictures so suck it up buttercups but i'll take some tomorrow if I do get out to do the lower arms

Right, did manage to get out on Saturday and got the lower arms changed and dropped her back onto her wheels
I'd forgotten how low it looks when on coilies lol

Weather has taken a turn up here so not sure when i'll get the back end done. I'm hoping to do it friday afternoon and may just do it regardless of the weather as i want to get her booked in and MOT'd asap!!

Didn't take any pics on Saturday as didn't have a huge amount of time to do it but i'll get some at some point I promise lol!!

Update time.
Got everything done for the MOT, stuck her in, got the two patches welded and tada!! We have an MOT

So, I've moved house now and the Fiesta has been good for taking black bags to the dump, and on the last trip I accidentally unbolted the back seats and lobbed them in to so the track prep has officially started!
Just need to clear the garage out as it's still full of boxes and then look to get her tucked inside so the prep can start properly.

Not much more to say other than that, going to give her a clean at some point this week and will try and remember to get some pics then but will probably forget lol.
