Yeah they are I know they are Paul, I just gotta take my other ones back to be replaced under warranty to get me some new ones then ill do it. Will only take an hour max I would imagine... maybe an hour and a half if I have a acoholic beverage half way through lol. But I just need to sort out the garage first because im making a work bench in there and putting shelves and stuff up, so once thats sorted ill do the lower arms :)

It's piece of piss Ben, once you have the rivets out, just file the holes on the wishbone inwards towards the bushes, and the holes on the ball joint closer to the ball joint itself. When I do mine I'll make a guide

I'll draw up a quick diagram of how it makes them camber adjustable tomorrow if I can't find one on google. Basically it's just pulling the bottom of the wheel inwards, which reduces the camber angle and makes the wheel sit more vertical.

It will only give a few mm of adjustment, maybe anything upto 10-15mm max I would imaging, but it extends tyre life which is the main reason for doing it, if I had money to waste on tyres then I would keep them as they are for handling purposes ;)

I will probably poly bush them yeah, I might look into rose joints/spherical bearings too, but polys will be cheaper

If you are still confused Ben, here is a picture of ones that Ian Howell sells for like £130 odd.

Can you see how the ball joint is allowed to be moved inwards and outwards? That gives the camber adjustment.

ahh its like being back in college, can you do it again but with a white board? :P


i just cant see myself trusting that design, not against DIY and homebrew but i can just seem them bolts lettignt he ball joint slip, shoudl atleast use them ribbed washers or something, to aid in friction

them bolts will be subjected to ALOT of force!

then suddenly you have "constant" adjustable camber :P



EDIT:
hang on i just thought, does that different ball joint slide inside the two sheets of the arm? so it preacticly clamps down on the ball joint?

if so i would trust that lmao, much better

Yeah it goes inbetween. If it wasn't a design that was safe and would work, Ian wouldn't make them like that.

In all fairness, that design is better than the lower arms I shall be using, but I will compensate it and make it 100% safe.
