right then id best do an update as ive had an eventful last week or so

while i was waiting for a few bits to arrive alex had kindly shot blasted my engine arms, so i gave them a lick of silver paint

clean after a blasting

it all started last sunday morning after jamie's wedding reception

nothing seemed to go to plan last weekend, alex's runabout fezza randomly died on us as all planned had to be scrapped!

i decided to go down and have a go at fitting my sump gasket on my own as yes it was a bit fiddly but nothing i couldn't do on my own, well after much fucking around and getting stressed i started again and in the process of cleaning off all the old silicone off the sump gasket it got caught in the rag i was using and sliced my finger open

monday came around and i have managed to get the day off work so i drove down to get my trusted and best buddy mr alex! after a mc d's brekkie we cracked on with getting the saphs sump back on and the bottom end back in!

little fucking thing went straight on first time when alex was there

next up was the head and manifolds turn, exhaust manifold getting offered up to the head

then inlet manifold was then bolted on ( no pic lol), head gasket was then put into position and the head was put in place and the head bolts were dropped in

cams in, cambelt on, injector in and a few hoses connected up

turbo bolted on and a few more hoses connected an ready to build up oil pressure

at the end of play on monday eve @ about 6.30pm the saph fired into life

i then went home to clean my lovely finger..

the rest of my week was spent connecting up my speedo cable ( pic below), water hoses, putting coolant in and bolting the alt and pas brackets back on

the first test drive for the saph was on friday morning , everything went as well as it could do , i arrived at alexs place of work with fucked wheel arches though

i decided when we arrived that id sign on for a run, my first ever time down the strip and it was against my mate in his Devil Dev preped and stickered up MK2 Frs running about 420bhp+ so i had my work cut out!

so i line up, didnt even have a chance to build my revs up and the lights went green , i eventually came on boost all seemed well with no traction in 1st or 2nd gear, so i changed into 3rd and i kinda snapped my gear stick in half , to top it off i cut my finger back open again so had blood all over the place

made a call and had some help whn i got back to the stand to access the damage

what a arse hole that was to drive wth on the way home

then to top my day off a wheel nearly fell off as some how even after torquing my wheel nuts up (3 times) the passenger side nuts had come loose , thank fuck it didnt come off! so all in all i was very lucky that nothing more serious had happened and we all got home safely!
