changed a flat tyre yesterday. nice to see a minimal amount of rust on the front suspension set up, cleaned up pretty nicely. Having a few changes of thought on the final image I want. Can you get 15" ford steel wheels that are basically a bigger version of the si steel wheel?

Cracked on with a bit today, mainly interior. Re-fitted a few bits and cleaned the mouldy seatbelts!
Still got a few bits to clean up and refit before the interior is ticked off the list.


Hadn't mocked up the rs2000's so thought i'd do that...


last but not least, the rust meilack is always on about... A before an after shot, a prime example as to why you should kill the rust straight away! the before looks bad but it was completely solid, only surface rust. Now it's just mush.

Cracked on fitting some of the interior back in, hadn't turned the key in it yet to see if anything was living, and low and behold it is


Battery needs a charge so i've just put it on.

Another question, trying to re fit the steering wheel and what a ball ache it is.

with the steering wheel on, the bolt doesnt reach the thread. Am i missing something? I can pull it out by hand but it pops back.

Should the white plastic centraliser not be flush with the indicator module?

Then the steering wheel would locate fully on the 50p shaped part of the column?

I thought that but for the life of me I couldn't get it in. Now I've got a second opinion on the matter I'll try slightly harder

As said previously, I can't afford to get her on the road anyway, so i'm taking my time and double checking everything I've already done.

Any more information on the steering wheel? Cannot for the life of me get that plastic washer in, it seems as though it won't fit.

Regarding the steering wheel, whats the situation in the engine bay? Is the rack and universal joint connected up? If not, the column may be dropping a bit into the 'bay

It's all connected up Dave, which is baffling me. I'm going to have a double check later on. Is that the only possibility as to why it's not protruding enough for me to get the steering wheel on?
