it doesnt smoke much but theres loads of soot in the exhaust, nd u can smell that its burning oil, nd yea he does rag it around a bit, i thinks the piston rings have gone or valve stem oil seals.

but i think hes having a new engine now anyway 1.7 puma i think!!

got bored yesterday, so i decided to remove the insulation from under the bonnet, its noisier now :insanity:

i also had a bash at raising the bonnet using washers, but it didnt turn out the best, so i put it bk standard.

gona laquer my smoked rears 2day, nd prime the xr2 kit if the weathers ok. mite buy sum air horns aswell lol

im thinking of removing that stuff soon.....it looks better aswell i think.....I heard it wasnt actually insulation but was meant to melt onto your engine in case of a fire and put it out :lol:

laquered my lights: they look better now

primed half the 2i kit!!

should all be primed by 2day, i gota go get another kit 2day 4 sk8xtrm aswell!! nd help my mate do his grill on his saxo!! got a busy day ahead of me!!

update and plans for the weekend:

rite then, i shud have the xr2i kit on by sunday:
its all primed now anyway, ready to be sprayed 2moz:

a mate of mine is gona cut this part of the arch out nd weld a new piece of metal in:

not gona do much to the drivers side rear arch as i dun it b4, just didnt do the best of jobs on the spraying, but it will be covered by the xr2i kit anyway. but im just goin to rust proof it.

also gona rust proof some other parts of the car such as underneath the wheel arches.
then sunday, jason (sk8xtrm) is gona fit mine and his xr2i kits on our cars and im also having window tints off him so they shud be on the car aswell.

If your fitting the xr2i skirts and arches, you can cut that rust out on the lip of your arch, treat it with some kurust, and paint it (but dont overspray too much) then stick your kit on 8-)

started work on the car at half 8 this morning!!

tried to treat rust and rust proof as much as i can on the car, apart from the arches and behind the wings, coz i cant find my locking wheel nut key so i cant take the wheels off :banghead:

.

anyway some pics:

nasty hole under the drivers door seal, which is now treated, need to be filled in somehow.

sills: got rid of any surface rust with a wire brush and both are now treated and painted with hammerite

bad patch of rust on the passenger side rear arch: is now treated and painted with hammerite, still needs cuttin out.

ive also treated the small bits of rust around the car.

hopefully now i can find my locking wheel bolt key so i can remove the wheels and underseal behind the wings and under the arches.

found it!!!!

well my neighbour found it the other week she said outside her garage, so she picked it up nd put it in her garage, not knowing it was mine. anyway her son came down and giave it to me last nite!!!

i must have left it in the wheel and driven up my bk lane and it must have fallen out of the wheel.

gona be undersealing and spraying the kit 2day!!

started undersealing!!

starter rain now thou so im avin a break till the weather picks up!
anyway so far ive cleaned loads of dirt from the cavity between the wing and chassis:

and undersealed the passenger side front arch and up inside the wing:

started spraying the kit now, its looking good, only 2 of the side skirts have had their 1st coat thou, but i ran outta paint nd halfords were shut.

should be finishing it off 2moz, ill get piccies up then!

Hope it turns out good mate but tbh i havent heard good things about their paint, they don't do it ready mixed for mine so i'm not sure

In future you should check out Paints4U.com

Like i say though good luck with it....should look good when its done.
