1.7 engines are pretty cheap really. The CVH requires alot more work, it's only been done once.

Either way I doubt Adam will do any of these things lol

if it does stay :P i'll investigate current engine health ;) which i think is ok - sort the temp gauge issue once and for all if that rears its head - give it a damn good clean inside and out - may hammerite the floor inside to match underneath

i was thinking puma - for ease - but may just get it going :)

solution to that - high pressure oil pump.

CVH's suffer from cam eating due to the fact the oil pump doesn't get enough oil into the head to keep cam lubed.

Burton High Pressure Oil Pump = £59.99

Rob's Series one with the FRST lump never tapped with that!

As much as i'd prefer you to cam then 1.6 for a little more than a puma, your engine has probably got too many miles to cope with it.

Sell the Audi you'll have plenty of money to play with on the ZS just tidying it up and getting a decent lump in it. Then you can just enjoy it for a while.

That way you don't lose over £1k on a car you haven't really used much!

think of it sensibly now.
Sell the audi, then you have some spare cash, your standard engine is on over 100K miles not sure of the history its had (I mean screwing etc) i personally wouldnt cam it and i would buy a low milage puma lump with the audi money, then you have a nice easy reliable car with a bit of poke even if you keep the puma lump standard they still go very well.

and you still will have change to put towards bodywork or whatever :)
