:lol: Calculated my MPG I did 240 miles to 30 litres so I managed 36MPG. which isn't bad I thought it was worse the way the fuel gauge was dropping! Thought maybe I had a leak :lol: This was with mixed driving and the brooklands convoy! so haven't really lost much in terms of fuel economy :) I could easily get 40 if I tried which is what I used to get

I can gurantee you will hate it as a daily though, i know of 3 people who have ITB's and hated them daily because of, A: the fuel consumption and B: they extra hassle from police lol
Itbs are not exactly "Quiet"

Not gonna happen for a little while though, will collect up parts over the coming months and I still need to do a lot of research into it as I don't really understand half of it all, plus I want to find the cheapest option :lolz:

im sure tis carbs that ruin your mpg not tb's

only the fact it has more power and you wanna plant it constantly for the speed/noise makes you have shit mpg with them :P :P

or am i wrong?! dunno never had them just what i heard :P

Both are bad for mpg, but throttle bodies are better and also better for emissions and fine tuning.

But you can actually get more power from a carb setup as opposed to throttle bodies in some circumstances.

Even ITBs give shite MPG, not as bad as carbs, but still bad.

Let me put it this way.. Jenvey setup on a zetec, when driving properly.. will drop to single figures MPG wise.

Either way I need to do some research as I have no idea what will fit this mani, He said Jenveys were in mind for it, but I can only see DTH ones which are £650!!! Screw that. I'm looking at paying like £100 lol so I think i'm going to need bike bodies? but then that opens a whole new kettle of fish as I don't know the differences and I want the one with the shiny round holes poking up when you open the bonnet.... :D and the ones that make the best noise.

I know have 4 caps for my RS500's :) Good news!

Bad news is I have no locks. I will post up a pic of what the locks look like at a later date but i'm not sure what i'm going to do about it, might try and see if somewhere can make me some up, if not wait it out on ebay but the last set someone sold at a starting bid of £29.99 for ONE. and I know all four got bids :(

Sounds good for daily use! my mate had a completley rebuilt Vts engine on ITB's mapped and built by sandy brown in a stripped track 205 rallye. although it only rr'd at 170bhp the thing was insanely torquey!

If you want to fit bike bodies you'll have to make an adaptor to bolt to that Mani, and then fit the bodies with silicone pipes. As that Mani looks like it is made for proper bodies to bolt to it.

The shiney trumpets can be fitted to any, and they'll all make the noise lol

First things first, find out mm size bodies normally get used on that engine.

You'd be better off paying a couple of hundred for some proper bodies... or make a DIY Mani to fit the cheap bike bodies to easier (standard inlet is plastic yes??)

Ok I am withdrawing the offer on that manifold with my sensible head on.

:lol: I don't have the knowledge and I am spending too much money!! If I do ever consider it i'll just get Direct to head ones on the cheap if thats possible. Either way, I need to look into it more as just wanting noise isn't really a good enough excuse to shell out like £600+ even on a budget.

With Xmas, the misses bday, a holiday, etc. coming up and the fact I want to get out of this damn overdraft i've been in since I put the engine in :lolz: I need to do some saving, will see how much i've got to get that crossmember fixed and then the rust and just try and stop spending.

Although I think I might have a smoothed boot coming and I have a freestyle grille and happypauls seats.. So you can see where it all starts adding up!

Must. Be. Sensible :lol: Avoiding eBay at all costs..

That was the plan, megasquirt, cheap bodies and bolt on lol but it doesn't seem quite that simple as there are a couple little bits and bobs to do with it. I will look into it eventually.
