Well what a day that was. As some of you know I was picking my RS Turbo up yesterday morning. After waking up much earlier than normal pretty excited that the day to collect her had actually come after 2 long month's of waiting to collect.
So I set out early to sort out my bank stuff and go over to the garage where she has been stored for last few years. On arrival I called the recovery company I had arranged collection with to see what time they would be turning up only to be told they weren't coming anymore as they'd got a bigger distance job booked in. So after being let down by them useless bastards I was pretty pissed off and thought fuck trying to sort another company. So I got onto my mate who I was going to tow her back with in the first place and we set about hooking her to the back of his Polo GTi. Once all hooked up and checked everything was tightened and secured the On Tow sign was put on the back and off we went. Sods law we hadn't even got half way back and the heavens opened up and did so until about 2 minutes before we arrived. I have to say 2 years of dust on windscreen, rain and no wipers made for a frisky view when attached to car in front on only a 1 metre tow bar
Anyways once I got her back we pushed her into the garage out of the rain and wet and went to the pub
After having a few things to do this morning, I made a start on sorting through the box full of history and invoices. Although I knew there was loads of history and a lot had been spent on her in the past I was shocked when I finished going through it all how much has actually been spent. I stopped counting the invoices half way through at nearly £18'000. Once all sorted into order by date I filed them into wallets and put in a decent file instead of a scraggy box
After that was sorted out I pushed her out of the garage to give her a good hoover out and a bit of a wash to get the 2 years of dust off. Nothing too special just a bucket and sponge wash with some Autoglym car shampoo and dried off. Once cleaned up I took some pics to post up as I know we all love some piccies
I can't explain how happy I am with her
Still has all her original panels and all original etched windows too which is nice
A few little jobs to do aswell as putting turbo and manifold back on and she could be Mint
I will update my 1st post with full spec once I have had a proper read through the build spec sheet.
