10 grand sounds alot... considering that would get you a new small frontwheel drive something with about 80 brake as a general rule of thumb. it was going to cost that to finish the drivetrain on the last setup. and that would have been so highly strung id be ripping it to bits every year or so to check up on things rebuilding stuff...between 300 and 400 with a YB is going to be reliable enough not to have to worry about blowing it up taking a trip to the shops

this thread however wont be fast littered with updates..i have alot of prep work..stuff to shift...and get ready to cut a big hole in the middle of the car!

cant wait too see this finished, its going to be awesome, i can highly recommend a company to do your wiring! theyve been spot on for all the bits for me and theyve done bits for alex's cossie too

if you need a hand i'm sure alex and i could work out a way to come and help, he is after all the master at stripping cossies

I really want to do that (cosworth 4x4 build) to the RS but I cannot justify us cutting a hole in my shell and making it all ourselves, I dont think it would work so well?? Although if you wish to convert me, I will listen to your ideas and sell my engine shite

not really a big update...thanks to Alex for the donation of a box..i know its shagged..but its going to be invaluable for the primary fabrication build of the car

MT75 box...std issue for 4wd cosworths...engine will be a basic 330 bhp conversion..maybe 350 depends on which bits i chose. this is where i have to be careful as the drive train will start to cack its pants past this point....then its big money in gear kits...diffs..thick wall front diff case...

ive seen alot of people on PF with stage 3 4x4 saph's having issues with the transmission

one reason i went 2wd, i couldnt afford the diff's and gearboxes

i have no idea how alex's box and diff lasted as long as they did, he wasnt hanging around when we did our 1/4 testing on our private test track...

fingers crossed tho ill be a fair bit lighter 1/4 of a tonne at least which will take some of the strain out of moving the car...who knows....be fun while it lasts..if its that unreliable then ill have to just go mental with it cull the harley and get some proper diffs and box on the go
