Heat Sheild? Mines currently got a combination of that and a worn lower engine/gearbox mount. Got a tasty GrpN item to fit though to cure that.

Could be the exhaust is sitting higher due to it being lighter, or could be badly fitted. But I did send it an exhaust specialist to fit as I couldn't be bothered.

Its nothing major just an annoyance.

Oh well, it adds character to the car mate! My tailpipe on the si hits the rear panel sometimes, not got round to sorting it yet but it makes the car different from the rest.................................

Very hard to improve on but there is a way, I do plan to keep this car for quite a while yet so mods are being phased in over a longer time period.

If all goes to plan, the next mods would be:

Manifold and sports cat.
Newmans phase 3 cams and a full live remap.

Would easily see it to 165-175bhp

Or I could just chuck a V6 in...

The V6 would offer more power and should be reliable, would just be a shame to not use the current engine

you'll be getting onto my bhp/litre then! once you hit the magic 100bhp per litre, you'll have a hard time getting more without deep pockets, keeping it N/A.

Ricky-P has got 180bhp IIRC from standard inlet on the 1.6 16v TU beast. Although you can beat the bark of ITB's.

Get Wayne at chipwizards to map it, he's only round the corner from you too.

as you say so yourself why not buy a faster car

Exactly, to buy a car then do all that work is silly and you may aswell buy a faster car.

But to add a couple of bhp every year or so to keep it interesting is a different story.

I do plan to own this car for 10 years.
