my dad is going a bit mental at ford, using the sale of goods act which states i can refuse the car if it is not in satisfactory working order upto 28 days from purchase and its 18 days old now. Angling for compensation or a new one i'll update on how it turns out

And the idea of getting a new car was because it was more reliable?

First 2 weeks and something has shat itself..sounds like a fun life ahead to me

its a common fault apparantly its due for a recall on all ST's

least you get to ride around in a 'dream car' for 5 days eh mate? alot of people on here would kill for what your getting

so if its a standard recall, what exactly are they going to be changing it with, the exact same part or a new uprated version? I can see a fair bit of trouble ahead to be honest mate, i'd be proper screwing at them now!!!!

and well people say that, but i'm keeping a positive outlook

i wern't having a go, my look out is that its under warranty so its not my problem so if it breaks ford can fix it

and cheap run abouts can get liek that

lol, alls good mate, i know where your coming from with the warrenty, it is good when they actually fix things ok, we have had a lot of trouble with warrenty work in the past, i know how annoying it can be when parts fail when they shouldnt!!

i'm hoping its just a minor setback

i'm loving the extra power over the xr3i

it pulls all the way to the red

well i've covered 1500 miles (nearly) in 3 weeks of owning the car and have to say that generally i am very impressed with it (minus the 29.5 average mpg ) and although i was initially extremely pissed off that the syncro broke pretty much straight away, it is getting sorted, so that should make the driving experience more normal

Somewhere along the line, i have lost my confidence in attacking corners and i worry to much that something will go wrong so i need to sort that out really! Its a mind thing but generally the car has little body roll and the tyres are impressive, if a little loud on the motorway

It is currently filthy, the rear numberplate wasn't visible at one point but the snow has made it visible again, so i really should crack on and clean it and take some pics. Shame i was working today, snow pics would have been good!

before people complain about lack of pics i've had a few probs of late involving my family so pics have been the last thing on my mind tbh, so has cleaning the bloody thing!

Cleaning is for those with too much time and not enough money in their pocket to drive it I've said it many times!

It's a totally new car to you and quite a jump really. The conditions are terrible for being about to feel the car so I'm not really suprised you're not 100% with it. It took me close to a year to completely trust the GTi where I didn't mind lifting off at silly speeds around the bends I'm still not comfortable in the Clio as it's gonna bite me one day I'm sure!

my phone was set to medium resoloution on the camera, so i have turned it up to high and will see if it makes a difference
