Fitted the K&N today.. and its bloody loud on full throttle lol! Never thought it would be so loud.. gotta get used to that now!

Looks better than original anyway.

Only problem that i will need to get around some how is the intake of heat from the engine... i did make a crappy cold air feed.. but that wont be enough lol.

If anyone has got one of these and made any mods to it to stop the heat being sucked in, let me know what you did.. also i need to drill a hole in the bottom of the base plate and put the tube from the oil cap in there :D

on my 1.3 i had a k+n panel filter with cold air feed from under the front bumper to the air box and the back was grinded off to fit my strut brace. Sounded nuts

It doesnt make any performance difference to be honest, if anything its just a little more responsive, thats about it from what i can tell... just sounds a louder on half to full throttle... well very loud lol.

Car looks good.

Id move your oil breather away from pointing to the filter. Only way i can think of getting more air to the filter would be a bonnet scoop, just a low level one. But id seriously doubt it would make much difference in power, as its not the most powerfull engine to start with.

Slap a FRST engine in! :halo:

Little update, sorted out the breather pipe. Got some silocone hose from halfords. BARGAIN!

I got 2 lots of it, so 4 meters in total for £2 haha!

Image

Looks better now me thinks. I would have prefered blue, but i can live with red lol.

Image
Image

Also a quick pic of my car at a big car meet down in southampton.

Image

The BMW next to mine is my mate phils company car - C.A Automotive. Its pushing out 540 BHP. Its a BEAST to say the least!! Full spec on their website: http://www.ca-automotive.co.uk

Engine bay needs either cleaning up.. or converting to 2 litre.. not got the money for 2 litre, and i cant be arsed to clean it up.. its a HCS at the end of the day lol :P

Slowly getting there!

Yea it really is a beast, its unreal! It can kill any ferrari easily.

The speed of it is unreal! Can put a huge grin on your face lol. And if the road is a bit wet/greasy, you will get wheel spin through 2nd and 3rd lol.

Top speed is 200+ iirc. We went to bruntingthorp (spelling) air strip which CA Automotive own basically, and took it down the runway, got to 185-190 i think and it was time to start braking, and it still had more to give! But now its got a few nice new little mods and its soon to be up there again on the runway, get another speed run out of it.

One brilliant part of the car is the brakes, it will stop as fast as it accelerates, its mad, the front disks are 15" and the rear 14"... lets just say the safety harness' aint in there for the corners ;) lol

Its up for sale soon though, will be sad to see it go, its worth £120,000, but its being sold for less i think.

Next project for them though is the new M5, that will be made to a 250mph car, but with extreme acceleration too, it will be equiped with huge ass superchargers, carbon fibre bodywork, well.. basically, you name it, it will have it - just like the M3 pretty much.

But yea, it is a beast! lol.

Got some new seats today! Thanks to Sphinx! The car is slowly coming together :D

All i can say is the seats are brilliant, proper hold you in around corners and also really comfy to sit in, very supportive!

Got the whole si interior - front, rear, door cars (which i need to fit still) handes (need to fit them too, but need some little screw holder things that go in the inside of the door so you can screw the handles in kinda thing), little plastic bits that for the inside door handle, and the door pockets.

All for £50, which is good as the seats are in MINT condition! No wear apart from where the seatbelt rubs on the sear at the top.

Also, i got my rear window tinted after all this time, its in dark smoke, and i now need to change the 2 rear quarter windows to dark smoke from limo black to match the rear.

Pics :) will get some better ones at a later date.

REminds me of my First car. A 1.1 Si rep in aubergine. It was no where near as tidy as yours though, keep it up.

Those airfilters are awesome, designed purely for heatsoak, but the noise they make is crazy!!
