well its booked in for MOT thursday next week so fingers crossed

at the moment its got no sound system in it what so ever so i thought i would put some 6X9's in a spare parcel shelf.....why the fook is there a steel bar running through the parcel shelf ......so untill ive re-gained my patience thats taken a back seat again

quite apparant the MAF needs a clean as mr M3 found out just disided to bog right down so he got up my arse then it went like fook and i put a few car lengths on him

found somewhere to pull over and unplugged it

cleaned the MAF and fitted a universal performance ( ) filter and stuck some shell VP optimax ultra stuff in it

so good having a car that can put a bit of speed on without having to rag the nuts off it by that i mean i accidentally end up at 90 on a private test track of course

im not liking the power steering when its going at pace though!

lookin nice mate...if you dont think you could do a perfect job on the arches....why not do an obviously worthwhile(gets rid of the rust and keeps it away) job but dont make it too aesthetically perfect...then just stick the xr2i arches and skirts over the top so its hidden

a mate that used to have one said he did that when he had one many moons ago, ill still give them a go its just matching the paint im no good at, or at least the stuff out the rattle cans seems to look out of place

i might give it a go with rattle cans see what it turns out like, im not overly fussed as its got a few scratches on the rear 1/4 touched up with some crap looking stuff, im good at getting runs in anything i paint though still if it fails ill hide it with some arches

the ruddy filter keeps falling off

if that air filter is taped on....no wonder its falling off lol



If your getting runs then you are applying too thick coats....they can always be sanded off with a fine grit wet paper and then buffed up you know....lacquer needs to applied in very very light coats

still not got round to the arches

the airfilter was still falling off so ive but the airbox back on turning the lower half into swiss cheese before hand, sounds a bit chavvy now though

also managed to work out how to stick a new bulb in the foglight

and gave it a wash



been having some right fun in it although it just does not pull off from the lights like my old mk1 needs that EFi crap chucked in the bin in favor of some carbs but when its rolling it moves well as an E36 found out

off oop norf at the weekend so might take some pics in the rolling hills on Lancashire


and im allready considering collecting the parts to go 2 litre, unless my pinto will fit when i can have carbs

blasted clutch cable snapped today luckily got one at the motor factors £9 and even managed to get it fitted in about an hour in the dark clutch feels alot smoother now it was giving me a sore ankel after a few hours driving before hand

while i had the airbox off i took a pic of the swiss cheese



only done it on the front and battery side as hopefully that will get the cooler air
