Cheers, so far it is, just want to get it legal for the real fun to start :D

All sorted now retest booked for next Wed 12pm, garage told us that the emissions were in the legal range on their machine compared to the readout on the SVA test centre machine but have messed around with the distributor to lower the levels slightly.

Already been to Cardiff, drove straight down to Llanishen DVLA for the docs.

Great fun to drive, but even in the weather we have had lately it is too hot to drive, I just wait for it to cool down in the evenings and then go for a drive. 8-)

Little Update - not much in appearance:

Have bough a few bits and bobs, spare wheel is in place with a spare wheel cover, have finished off most of the under dash wiring, now have westfield style front indicators, new badges, different harness pads, full steering cowl, horn is now wired into the steering wheel, windscreen washers, motor and bag in place, demisters in place, wiper motor and wheel box in place. Chequered effect floor mat going in over the next couple of days, welsh club numberplates.

Probably more but can't think of anything at this time.

Have cut the chequered floor matting to shape - hell of a job since there was not much room in the footwells, will be fitting sometime tomorrow probably.

After trying to wire up the oil gague last week, burnt a fuse into the fuse box, managed to get it out and thought the slot might be wrecked but have managed just about to fit another fuse in there so all lights are working again.

Have now got an exhaust heat shield, so I won't burn my leg or my trousers getting out of the car :haha:
Chrome plated with some holes and Tiger cut into it. Got it off ebay, when it arrived noticed the clamp holders were to far apart. Ended up taking it to Clarkson Fabrications on Litchard Ind Est, Bridgend - to get this sorted.
Chrome is burnt in a few places due to the welds but nothing major as can be seen in the pic:

Image

A touch of chrome paint will probably sort that.

Mirrors are off the car, have now started on the windscreen frame, rivetted the holes for the wet weather gear on the frame and the connections are in place.

Next is to bend the mirror/frame holders in to the correct position so that the frame can be held in place properly, then drill more holes for the wet weather gear side opening parts.

These things:

Image

12th Sept 2006

Exhaust heat shield fitted, was in metal fabricator for a couple of days to place the bracket holders closer together. Couple of burn marks, nothing major though.

13th Sept 2006

Today i finished off the bending and drilling for the windscreen frame, have also fitted the windscreen frame, the windscreen and the Side parts of the wet weather gear. Lots of fiddling involved, especially cutting off the top side of 6 hex nuts so they would fit inside the frame, ended up using an angle grinder because the nuts are tiny.
All that is left for the windscreen area now is to cut the wiper blades and arms to length, place clear silicone in any gaps between the frame and the windscreen, place the mirrors back in place and maybe get a sticky rear view mirror for the windscreen, since the one I have at the moment shows double vision

Image

14th & 15th Sept 2006

Have now removed the sidescreens, refitted the drivers side mirror and noticed that there is no room for both the mirror and the sidescreens at the same time, so am now going to have to buy the expensive classic type mirrors if I want to use both as the mirror arms are thinner on those.

Have placed the clear silicone to hold the windscreen in postition, then had to wait overnight for it to go solid, wiper arms and blades have been cut shorter to length and both are fitted. Windscreen washer works also.

Image

Have also ordered a universal suction rear view mirror as I have seen from other kit cars that it actually holds in place + it's lighter than standard mirrors - ideal for this windscreen.

Big thumbs up there, looks like a lot of time on it - i'd be getting some mileage in soon tho before we hit winter.

I so wish i could have a car like that in the area I live, my friend has a 2.0l pinto robin hood with stainless steel shell which is absolutely awesome like a go kart with a proper engine strapped on. I imagine your tiger cat will be much lighter aswell so it will be even more pointy!

Whats the plans for the future with it then, YB power, bike engine (don't last very long tho), House?

Latest - all that is left now is the carpeting - leave that until next summer, wet weather gear in position, OK in light rain, a nightmare in torrential rain

Only in a couple of places, mostly where the hood connects to the windscreen frame + definetly going to need to make a pedal box cover, my legs were soaked after driving it on Sunday.

Aye the guy who built them for Tiger, got caught by Trading Standards, not declaring he was selling them to a company. So am going to have to improvise.
