so i moved house:

i like it.

got my prioritys sorted for my room.

got a shed! tidy!
then i took a nice pic of my mk2 looking dirty:

i serviced it with some oil, filters and plugs. runs sweet. its let me down twice because i keep leaving the lights on! need to fit a warning buzzer.
we then attempted to fit a stereo. the bstard MW radio wouldnt come out so i removed the dash surround. to do this i took the steering wheel off. all good.
my mate then went to tighten the wheel back up and over did it and collapsed the steering rack along the column!

I then had to remove the dash to see what was up. having only driven the car 50 miles.

the ass himself - he did feel guilty. fitted some speakers as well. the car only came with one

i then turned my attentions to the xr2i.
bought it a £40 car cover that isnt waterproof (whats the point?)
spent another 15 on a cheapo one that is. maximum protection

looking a bit sorry for itself.

i got annoyed at having no doorcards for my recaros. £80 one dude want for some and they were miles away. nobody want to seperate from the recaros.
i went to a scrap yard i'd never frequented and found a moldy old rs turbo. the recaros i left. im gonna go back for the spoiler and clocks on saturday.
i removed the doorcards and rear bench which had seen around a years worth of rain. NOT in good condition.

price = £5.
they were warped and covered in green mold.
so i set out to fix 'em up:
useful for those who want to re trim:

you need a glue gun with around 10 sticks to do the doors and rear seats.
Plus a huge tub of pva glue (copydex is good).
beer is optional.

crusty seat. (rear back rests are ok)
crusty door cards

warped

see the difference. the 16v xr2i seat is the donor. remove the staples underneath and slowly peel the cloth off. do it too quick and it removes half the foam.
use the gluegun in the swage lines and push the material in deep with a object (i used a scewdriver) work from the middleback outwards. use plenty of copydex for the raised parts.
gluegun galore for underneath.
same really with doorcards. start from the top down. i didnt on my fist one, so while the finsih was good it isnt factory, you cant tell unless you looking for it.

mumph.

thoise creases have gone (iron on low heat) it looks ace, like from the factory. not bad for a fiver. aint got a full pic yet.
after months of this:

i know have:

(still need a good clean)
now i just need to fix the rest of the car.
