swear I responded to your questions, ah well

need to change something on the fuel pump and thats about it, to get the deisel working

interior is my mates and wasnt in great condition, I am after some recaro's for the TD.



Update:

Getting engine within the next week or so..
Need to weld on the new front panel once I buy one from the motorfactors

The car is staying white with the blue stripes like an xr2i, as I cannot be bothered to plough loads of cash into it at the moment, and tbh the paint work isnt in bad condition.

Want it on the road for June as the RS1800 runs out of tax... so thats when the RS will be going away for a while, maybe until the ZT is done

So should be moving along well within the next couple of weeks

Bet you can't wait for turbo time. this is an interesting project as it's a one off Will be good to see it all done!

Have the wheels gone off the XR2i? Reckon they'd look good with slammage on the XR-TD.

If I have some time this week I will be getting the arches done on the car in my own special way (so in the future I can fit big wheels like the ones on my RS1800 )

The bumpers and skrts will be painted within the next week or so, then the arch kit is being stuck to the car

After the kit is on the car I am going to give it a good t-cut wash and wax to make sure the rest of the bodywork looks decent.

All I need to get is the engine, a front panel, and some other little things like wishbones.

Today me and my mate took his mk4 deisel van to London and back to pick up the engine from Ghost who never actually had his red van on the road with it.
180miles each way.. set off at 2pm, got back home at 9pm after being there for an hour lol
3/4 of a tank of deisel.. RS would have cost me £70 worth!

Things I got from him:-

1.8 Endura DE Turbo Deisel engine - currently with some electronic b0llocks and semi auto fuel pump, which is why it wont run on a mk3.. we have all the bits to convert it over to no ecu what so ever.

down pipe converted for fiesta, with half an exhaust
2 different pumps
2 top mount intercoolers
another turbo inlet manifold
random other bits
gave us a random toolbox as it was in his way
and to top it off he gave me a focus rs front mount intercooler

I was only expecting engine and exhaust bit

All for £60





worth the 3 hour each way journey..

Also this week I have some paint to paint the xr2i kit, and have modded all my arch's and arch kit to take my 16's

now the Cheapo Project TD is starting to make progress!!

As I wanted a front mount intercooler setup on the TD project, just for the fact it removes it from the top of the engine where hardly any cold air is getting to..

I am using the escort TD top mount intercooler as my front mount

I decided as it is fairly deep, to cut the front bumper up, mesh it to stopm any stone damage and have the intercooler sat behind the mesh.

Number plate wise, I'm going to try a smaller front plate, and maybe have to fit a splitter (vr6) to be able to fit it properly.

Here is the picture of when I cut it yesturday, still needs tidying up before we spray the bumper, but you get the idea

whats the power of that engine? its 75bhp isnt it?

ive a white roof spoiler if you want it. was on mine but since ive had a new boot lid ive been thinking a black one would be better. its not a turbo jobbie, its just a diamond white coated lack one (an option apparently) needs one stud in the middle bit.

got round to making that badge for the boot yet?

are you gonna put rs popouts in or add the black vinyls for the '2i or nothing at all?

many questions but im bored and trying to avoid work.

got a '2i 16v valve leather wheel n'all, the later type, not the turbo style one.


are you putting orange indicators in? i think mine will have to go back on when i can be arsed.

here, 2 chips now that its been under my stairs which you can see in the pic:

essesntially a black one painted diamond white. ive seen them on other cars which have the rs lower spoiler (as mine once did) i was told it was an option. dunno about that. anyways it a nice smooth finish. has one stud missing (fell out)

£15 posted as said or direct swap for a nice black regular one.

Dont worry people, this hasnt been given up.. I need the engine timed up with the new fuel pump to allow me to run the Endura-DE TD engine without any ECU and random sensors then that can go in and start running.

Other than that, Im not going to say what else we are doing. It will be a suprise when its finished.

The Project TD has got its engine fitted and alot of other things done to it

All it needs now is wiring and pipes done, make sure engine is working..

MOT it, and then get my mate to paint it.

All in time for Ford Fair (we hope!)
