That spray will flake off unless you "key'd" the plastic.. just to let you know

Ooh an update, i decided rather than throw the engine in grubby i will clean it up and spray it

Oh yus i got my aerial assembly through the post so i will only require a radio/cd player now



Anyway i went out and got plenty of very high temperature engine paint, black for the block and silver for the sump, tempted to dump the green cam cover as its not brilliant anyway and clean and spray the spare cover i have lol

Anyway, piccies

Btw the engine is empty of ALL fluids



This was after cleaning, the block has been painted black, and at this point id had painted some of the sump to show the difference, the rest is now sprayed apart from the back that needs another clean before finishing but i had to leave it as ran out of time

Now bolted back together, need to do a few little touch ups here and there and finish the sump and perhaps do the other rocker?
Was considering sealing the head and taping off but its in pretty good nick and really would only need a good scrub annyway so have left it

Haven't done as much today

Got the locking nuts that were stuck on the car with no key off with an 18 socket, albeit a bit of swearing and trial and error

The car is now right up on axle stands ready to be stripped to drop the 1600 out of it, and the wheel on the front which needed replacing has now been replaced so theyre all nice and legal and the fronts are same size

next thing to happen now is to get stripping

Best time to do that will be tomorrow, its meant to be our only bit of sun for this week and next! GAY weather! Always putting a stop to our fun lol.

Cool wicked mate, keep up the progress, engine looks cool. yeah defo mate do it tomorrow. As you've got most of it apart it won't take long just drop and refit.

A little update

Picked up a new clutch today from Insane and got the flywheel and clutch bolted upto the engine
That side is now finished, just need an oil pump now!
