BYE BYE TD ENGINE!!

Yes the pickup is now an RS1800 engine with deisel box.

Had a fun weekend... removing engine and wiring loom.. fitting another engine and wiring loom.. then all the associated things which can go wrong..

-wrong size aux belt sold to me (as always the case)
-general wiring issues

etc etc

BUT

its in and its working damn i missed that engine, and pulls so good with the derv box

My only 3 pictures of the weekend... due to being too busy to take any.. plus its only a dirty zetec engine going into a dirty engine bay





Now I need wishbones and track rod ends

car was always on the block and tackle anyway so was safe

Next plan of attack.. is to attack the heater matrix from the RS1800 and fit it to the Pickup.. it broke, so therefore only have cold air at the moment

While I am fitting that to the Pickup it will give me chance to sort my wiring out behind the dash... I dunno how Ford managed to get all the wires behind there, they are magical them people.. hmmm might even fit a MK5 dash while I'm at it

And take back the XR2i Zetec NON PAS belt and slap them with it, as its too short and will try see which other belt I can get to fit when I can be arsed.. PAS pump is recirculating its fluid at the moment so its not gonna seize and snap the belt

But anyways... Pickup goes like stink now...

Lets hope the Derv box will do me some good for work.. 70mph is 2500revs... vs the RS box which was 3500revs..

To FITP, I had under 1/4 tank left when I got home.. my mate had 1/2 a tank left with the DERV box on his 2.0ltr So should see some nice MPG.

Also need to get new wheels/tyres on it, and then it shall look good again.. its current state inside and out.. it looks a shed

Well the RS engine is running sweet as a nut in the Pickup

First tank of fuel has done me 330miles with the diesel gearbox, and is in the red now... which is a major improvment compared to the rs box doing 250 at the most. This included 260miles on motorway doing a fair speed

Fair few jobs to do on it now, things have been breaking.. bloody cars
