All in sorted and plugged in

It runs, but one of the injectors has leaked so new a new seal, so will swap all the seals over.

Once thats done and i've got that pulley swapped / longer belt, Its all done and dusted

I've got pictures of some of the bits and bobs but I think i've left my phone charger in my mates car

So yeah

1.6 powaaa again :lol:

Need to get my cams out my old engine and into a bag or something, I don't want them getting screwed but I don't know whether they'll be in anytime soon, might have to wait til i've saved a bit so I can remap at the same time.

Heres the pictures over the weekend:

Old engine

Bent!

Up! Over! and out..

Swapping bits

Shock! my dad actually helped and fitted my ST Clutch

Lots of hassle with seatbelts, lowering the car and two of us lifting whilst stood on the car and one mate getting a jack under and jacking up the engine, but we got it in eventually!

More like a car

Done

Crap pics, phone was oily :lol:

Not mega mega easy, but tbh it wasn't all that hard! You only need very basic tools, we had barely anything and I was shocked once we done it at how small the tool collection was :lolz:

Very shocked we didn't run into more problems than we did, everything pretty much went in and out not too much of a problem

i know how you feel about the dad chipping in, when he does help, which is very rare, with anything, its always a good feeling!

but sweet, once its running mate its happy days! and defo get saving for that map so you can get the bloody cams in! again

my dad was a very high rated mechanic for Nissan, for years. He hated it and hates it now, doesn't like getting his hands dirty, but my mate was slightly less experienced with clutches, didn't even realise we had the alignment tool until dad said, He really knows his stuff but hates working on cars. Since this car he talks to me now and again about bits and pieces. I think he did the clutch because he knew it needed to be done to save hassle in the long run, and it only took two minuites!

Just my mate bill helped me out. so it was us two for the weekend, although one mate popped out to help lift the engine in

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but you really need to sort the front panel out. Either get a new one or that one straightened and strengthened.

In an accident its one less layer between you and death right now, yes it probably won't happen but it would be awful if you where in an accident and such a small thing could have made a difference.

Good work on the engine swap, as you say its not many tools which is weird but nice.

Yeah I know it is pretty bad, I need to get a quote on it really, will take it down the bodyshop which is pretty much next on the list.

Just need to get myself out of the debt i'm in now which shouldn't take more than 3-4 months, I'm sure you can understand that :lol:

It was actually quite shocking, and for the most part quite fun!

Yeah he was meant to

i'd have my cams in if he came down, not really sure whats happened with him, tried calling/texting, tried to get the money to him so he could make his way down, offered him food and a place to stay and money for helping, but got no replies and didn't pick up

I've got three useless bottles of Magners here now :lolz:

I'm sure there is a reason and maybe we can do it in the near future, need to get some money for the map now anyway.

Nah I don't have the right tools for some of it and I know what to remove etc and how to do it but there are some things which I would do wrong and some things I don't know exactly how do certain things, I'd mess it up :lol:

need someone who knows exactly what there doing at all times

You are right to avoid if unsure, every bolt has to be place in the right order at the right torque setting, not impossible but to many places where a small mistake can cost a lot.

no worries, we dropped the car as low as it would go and had two of us stood on the chassis with seatbelts to lift the engin onto a Jack and into place haha Crane would have been easier but costlots more

Me and Danny have a hotel room and are going fitp together so I'm sure ill hear from him soon :thumbsup:
