according to my insurance company he is insured with direct line. so i'm glad it will actually be fixed, hopefully blag the bodyshop to do the whole car bar the roof for a little extra.

anyone know the deal with insurance jobs? can i take it where i like for the work to be done? or does it have to go away to some unheard of monkey?

They give you a choice I think, but as far as I know you can take it to somewhere you want to go but will take longer.

it sucks that your si is damaged, you can get the insurance to have your car repaired where ever YOU want it repairing, its YOUR car, YOU pay the premium so have it done at your choice mate. dont let them tell you otherwise, they tried it with me in the past. Arseholes.

When you speak to your insurer and tell them which bodyshop you want to use it may take them a while longer than it would normally because your insurer will have to agree certain terms and conditions for this 'one off' job, unless they use them allready as part of their repairer network.

Oh and give them the address and phone number, you wouldnt believe how many we get saying something like ''client wants to use mercedes in bristol''

Hope it gets all fixed and shiney again soon.

i got a quote of 1486.93 for the repair, so its safe to say the car will be a cat d write off. and my mot was up on the 13 and i cant be bothered to sort it out so i got a spanking new pug 307 tis meh.

but i will be mot'd after the write off settlement.....then its for sale cos i'm buggering off to thailand for a while. so pm me if you want to buy it with a dent and a years mot theres lots of fiesta spares that i will chuck in as well.
