Just spent 45 minutes outside in the dark with the paint and roller.

Covered the whole car now, still got touching up to do around any hard to reach bits, around windows, door shuts etc
But at least its covered!

Plan is, when I have time.. and daylight... go over the whole car again with a bigger roller, then once completely dry, flat it down with some 1200 grit wet and dry, to smooth it out and make it matt as fook :D

Yeah it will do, best way for a car to handle is to make it higher on the rear, makes the back end want to slide out more too I found out in my friends car once lol. Idiot slammed* the front on coilovers and a steelie, then put 15's on the back and wound it up to the max, every roundabout it would want to slide :lol:

Okay well, been reading into things now :lol:

Been on the TDOC getting some very useful information about the Lucas fuel pumps, (as used in the majority of the 1.8 endura turbo diesels, apart from the first ones running the slightly bigger turbo & bosch pump)

Guy that runs that forum has a 306 D Turbo now running just under 190bhp and has done plenty of testing with his old Lucas pump before moving onto the better bosch pump... He managed to get around 130bhp with the lucas pump on his 306, I'll be tuning the escort in the same way (basically same pump!) so I'll be hoping to see 115-120bhp on the escort!

Doing this mainly for learning value, if it goes bang its a cheap shit motor so I'll just get something else to run around in!

On another note, if it goes well and is still running, I'm going to track it at Ford Fair! :lol:

It shouldn't go bang with the extra fuel, I've been running 20psi without any fuel mods for a while now and it only starts to get hotter when I'm thrashing the nuts out of it making it lean lol
the way I've been shown to mod the pump is better than the way the forums say to do it and I'll not get too much smoke and better mpg off boost lol

On the way home from work I decided to go to the land of shonk..
Dropped the rad/aircon rad/fan down and hoped I could reach in the front panel enough to mod the pump.. which I could... after I ripped off the aircon rad and shoved it in the bin :D

So after some weight saving and better airflow mods out the way I did my task...
Using a shitty 4mm allen key which was close to snapping, I managed to turn the max fuel screw up inside the pump, roughly 60 degrees.. (mondeo td owners claim 30-40 is the most, nah.. im following the steps of the 306 lucas pump boyos!)

After some more pissing around, put it back together, took it for a drive.

FUCKING FLYS. Although boost went SKY HIGH, so lowered that back to 18-20psi :)

Its night time and I cant see all the smoke, but overtook someone and the trail behind me is telling me its too rich.

What I shall be doing is:
Turning the pre-boost fuelling down to its lowest setting - to stop excess smoke before the turbo kicks in
Turning the max fuelling screw up more, thus giving it more top end bollocks and giving the fuel back to the preboost without making it smoke its cunt off
Block the EGR, remove the CAT, and boom.
