you got goolies elward ... i dont do anything with less than 4 wheels, although i have jetski'd but that doesnt count, but my old college tutor had the UK's fastest non-turbo busa. 200mph+ !! nut case !

Yeah, two people have mapped and rr'd at 153. That's cams, fill exhaust, remap, big end bolts and limit raised.

In theory I want to hit 150. Burst the same time. Just want it to be tuning right and be quick enough to keep outing a smile on my face

I suppose it should be possible, should eb able to get my C2 there with similar work but I am not paying for cams, keeping an eye out for used ones as they would tempt me at the right price.

Yeah I'm a cheapskate everything I've bought has been on the cheap. Brand new ss4s Â£350 from someone there Â£480 from shawspeed! Glad they decided to get a mk6 lol

Engines screwed royally, the big ends are fucked, the crank could possibly be bent, its all gone horribly wrong and as far as I can tell from talking to people its new engine time.

Which means getting hold of money, then an engine, then getting a friend (and danny?

) down to help swap them over get the cams over and in, then get it for a remap straight away.
Deadline is download festival so I can get there.. :lol:

So looking like i'm gonna need a loan.

Yeah its done. way to much work and money to repair, i've kept the big end shell as a souvenir i'll let you all laugh at it at the next show.

Like I say, The cams won't fit a 1.7, it'll be quicker than a 1.7 (before the map!), its also a lot more work to get the 1.7 in and more parts to find, it'll be easier to just buy the 1.6 engine and dump it in with the cams and get it mapped. It would take a while to sell the cams and I doubt i'd get my money back on them.

Cheers guys, looking at a loan and for Â£1000 over 12 months its only Â£100 interest.. Might go for it :lol:

I'm sure interest will be better if I pay it back quicker as well.

What a shitter. new engine time then! 1k seems about right to budget for the new engine itself then ancillaries before dropping it in (pump, belt, etc) and then the rest can go towards the remap? You'll get that paid off in no time, not the end of the world.

I'm sure once it is mapped it will be worth the smile it puts on your face.

Yeah its either a new engine or rebuild most of this one, which I think I would prefer due to knowing that this engine will be fine, instead of spending the same amount on an engine that could go the same way.

I am feeling everything should hopefully be around Â£3-400, get a new clutch as well, only just had cam belt and that so should be fine. While were there though it will be good to replace most bits for fresh stuff. Get it up and running and yeah they rest can go straight in for a map. hopefully I should have some change to spare, but no biggy if I don't.

I will keep you all updated

If you only need Â£1k to put it right and have a decent credit score you can get a 13 month 0% credit card, only problem then is finding the parts and paying by credit card although you can set it up to use with PayPal

Is it worth keeping an eye out for a cheap ZS to use the engine and parts from and then sell the rest to recoup some money, seems to be a few cheap ones about these days, failing that you can easily get a 1.7 puma for Â£1k and then you would have all the parts to put the engine into yours plus you have the parts from the puma to sell on to recoup some money

cams won't fit in a puma and before the map with the cams its faster than a puma.

More hassle for less really. :lol:
