Ugh... Even though I've got a lot of stuff planned for this car most of the time im blagging stuff or prioritising it fitting in with my budget. SOmehow the missus thinks skanked items for mods or whatever means we have enough money for a second car for her. I work 16 hours a week and yes due to tax credits the income is nicely held but with her £60+ a week debt repayments we don't stand a chance of a second car. The only reason we have one is it's cheaper to run a car than buy two annual bus tickets just for one bus operator (we'd need three different companies tickets for the travelling we do).

Got the passenger electric window working, turns out the glass was just REALLY stuck!

Gave the car a ten pound hand valet at one of those places, car is seriously clean now. Also whacked 30 litres in the tank, never put that much in before, ever!

Yeah exactly like the one you got. I might change the handle over as it fits slightly different to the mk3 one. Fins and all, fit fine.

I gave mine a damn good wiggle fitting it in. With the handle not screwed on it doesn't sit down flat (about an inch and a half raised) but the handle easily shuts it. So give it a good wiggle and let it sit without the handle fitted, adjust until it sits level both sides, job done!

It's a thing called freecycle. Its a yahoo group for giving things away that you don't want or need. I've got loads of stuff from it, including a shed and a king size ikea bed

Well, haven't touched this thread in a while. Moving house and starting a new full time job was mental. Car is a tip again and looking at the work schedule I don't think going to FITP is promising

Anyway, first pay packet and I splurged on...



Just for the front two wheels mind, I didn't get paid that much! And my word did these change the car. No more crashy bangy over bumps, no pulling or anything. These wheels are god-like now. Planning on doing the rears soon (well, do the rears then put the fresh new ones on the front and these on the rear).

Nice little mod I did today and quite some cost:



Pretty good? Cost me 11 quid in builders sand Silly joking aside, That's just lower on the rear than what I want to achieve. No rubbing at this height for some reason, so pretty pleased with 50 profiles.

Car was parked there for unloading the 10 bags of sand, massive bag of compost and tins of paint.

Also ordering little bits like door trim clips (could not for the life of me find those BMW insulated ones on eBay that Excursion has used on his project). Digging through eBay for those few quid little things right now.

So, all hoping I can turn up to FITP!
