This week:
Ordered a rear shock to replace the nackered NSR one as its getting dangerous over bumps :lol:
Ordered rear wheel bearing for OSR as its making some interesting noises :lol:
Fitted my boost gauge, and broke it.
Ordered a new boost gauge, and shitty pod for it to sit in.. so I can keep my analogue clock (I missed it!)

Will fit them things ASAP
Along with painting up my rusty bits with silver hammerite :lol:

Payday in 2 weeks =
Paint xmas tree rims satin black
Good tyre on bent rim swapped onto decent rim with bald tyre
New tyre fitted onto another good rim with nackered tyre
Balance them all
Tracking on car done
Put escort 15" shitter into the boot for a spare, as the tyre is still legal and holds air.

Hoping to get the on boost fueling and boost turned up soon as I get my new boost gauge :rolleyes:
Just a case of squeezing my hands behind the rad turn the screw with an allen key and 14mm spanner at the same time :(

I could also up the max fueling screw (inside the pump.. turn it 20 degrees for ultimate fueling), but thats a rad out job! - VERY temping tho :lol:

Will be bashing the "cat" out when I can be bothered to unbolt it, pointless things on a diesel anyway.
toying with the idea of swapping the rear box for abit of straight pipe just for extra wistle.. but again thats a rainy day I'm bored type of thing to do :lol:

Ordered an eBay special rivet gun and 75 rivets for £2.99 ... as I need to reviet my back bumper as its dropping to bits on the O/S where I reversed into a pile of snow (ice)
I can also use it to rivet some mudflaps onto the rear (found them while tidying the garage lol)

Just reading up on the max fueling screw on the pump as well.. easy peasy :lol:

Hopefully see the boost gauge hitting 18psi when I can be bothered to plumb in the boost controller! :D

Drove to Newcastle on Friday night and noticed 30 miles into my journey my boost gauge was not working...
Pulled over, and the pipe off the nipple on the turbo had popped off... I forgot to tie wrap it in place :lol:

So left it, and told myself to be careful with the right foot so I don't cook the thing at 25 or so psi :teehheee: :lolz:

My god it shifts a hell of alot better (up to the point of running lean..) so I can't wait to up the boost properly, and even better once I up the fuel to match it :D

On another note... 13" Ka / Fiesta steelies are a no no on an escort. Speedo was shhowing 90 while doing 75mph on gps :doh: :hmm:

The speedo is annoying as feck, but that can stay like that till I sort my 15's / wishbones / suspension / tracking out :rolleyes:
Will put the pipe back on properly tomorrow, and see how slow it goes.. with the extra boost it was fooooking flying at top end revs on way home from work :lol:

Ordering a nipple (ooooo..) to plumb the boost gauge into the side of the intercooler just before the inlet; so I can get a better reading... Once thats fitted I'll plumb in the manual boost controller, and mess around with the fueling a tad :)

Also toying with certain ideas for its future look :lol:

you have just revived my plans on getting a derv escort now, not fucking touching a mk6 unless its a red 5 door :P

id prefer a mk5 in that dark green they come in :D

seriosuly i enjoyed this thread, if the car is slowing dieing from unloved past, mainly by rust, who gives a shit run it too death :P

but dont wind the boost up too much or it will death sooner than you'd prefer, and it will die with some test still on it haha

how does a boost controller get wired in then? and how doe sit go about its business?
