Is there no locking mechanism at all inside the boot? Like no rods or anything?

Easy to do either way, just pop off the black plastic cover and if the rods are there, just pull one until it opens, and if there isnt and the lock is there, just get a pair of pliers or something and pull on one of the little tabs until it opens.

Rods were still in there so i could open the boot phew!

Got the loom out of the old boot, god damn thats gonna be a bitch to wire in, also need to align my boot as there seems to be a slightly too big a gap at the top to the roof

Picked up he new exhaust studs, new nuts, and some EGR blanking screws and washers

Don't blank the standard manifold man, go for a 4-2-1. Much better breathing
Mind you there is a cost issue haha

Good progress mole

Use a piece of wire to thread the boot release wiring through, push the wire down from the top, masking tape the boot release wire to the end then pull it back through again

Got the rest of my Gaskets today, and put my stickers on

My Darn spray ran out to do my rear lights just as i was finishing my second rear light So have had to order another can to finish, bit annoying considering it wouldnt take much to finish

Your getting there mate and when that 2 litre is in her and running you will not regret it. Honest.

I no exactually how you feel mate. When I was rebuilding mine I had it in bits in my room and I couldn't wait to get it all together back in the car and drive it again.
