Not an update on the engine, but an update on my car.. i broke my gearbox cradle!!

I'm not sure as to why it broke to by honest, the rust on it is just surface, i tried hitting the hole with a hammer to see how weak it was, but it was solid still, so i dunno. Might have just weakened over time or something.. hmmmm!

This was being a fool and pulling away hard at the traffic lights:





So after a good coat of paint on the new one, should last a little longer lol.

Oh yeah, got some new cams for the zetec engine, and pulleys, going to spray the pulleys white i think

Zetec/CVH cradles are reinforced around the mount points, however the actual gearbox brackets will need swapping to suit the cradle.

Yeah im glad i got it fixed quickly, i got a new one first thing in the morning, so swapped it over straight away lol, dont like having something broke which hold the engine in place.. seems wrong lol.

As for when i fit the zetec.. im not sure, will look into it! I might be putting my 1.3 box on there until i get a 1.6 one from an si, or i might just use the 1.6 one from the escort.. but means rear starter motor hmm... lol

A 1.3 gearbox isn't up to the job, in terms of ratios and bearing size.

Yeah gearbox is fine, interior and battery/rocker/cams stripped, if your willing tohelp with the rest Sunday is good for me
and you can have the gearbox as payment lol

Well, where do i start with this update!

Ok, I think this car has finally come to the end of its life, its been a really good car to me, never let me down to be honest, been all over the UK many, many times, its been used and abused as they say lol. But, i think its the end of an era for this little car!

So, over the past couple of months, ive had nothing but bad luck with this car in all honesty, i think it has been trying to tell me to get another one, but i didnt want to

Anyway, my bad luck starts here:

Waking up to see my bumper had been stolen...



Then, after getting slightly back on track, i had a little miss hap on the ice, which lead to me hitting a tree....





Then a few days later, someone reversed into my door... (it looks alot worse in person)





And now, the final bit of bad luck.. my engine has seized up

So, im not entirely happy in all honesty, i never wanted to let this car go! But, it seems like shes going to have to go to the big car heaven soon!

The plans are, to get another car (which might be sorted already ) and then strip this of all the bits i want to keep, and break the rest - might not be much lol. And then scrap the shell
