i cant really add to what these guys have said, great advice

you will know its a ph1 zetec as it would come from a mk1 mondeo, if you do get lucky enough to find the mk1 mondeo buy the ecu and the maf sensor too, it will save you so much jip and will run smooth as a nut

ive had a ph1 and me nor the history had any sign of the sticking valve problems

thanks chaps. lol jam, i remember reading the thread, it sure did look a pain and a rush too. but i wish i had that experience (even if it was a bastard).i pretty nervous on getting the bits together etc but i suppose ive just got to go for it. im emailing my insurance tonight to see what the change will be so ill hopefully know where i need to go tomorrow with it.

fingers crossed. thanks again for all the advice so far

wish i had a 1.6 so it'd be easier tbf but hey ho!

lol i can imagine u jammy bastard

been ill past couple of days so only just emailed my insurance to see what difference it will make. didnt make it to the scrappy because i couldnt get my head (or arse) away from the toilet. but hopeffully got the box sorted, find the engine, all the other bits then ill start clearing my car port out to get it sorted.

will be booking a whole week off to get it all done so ill sort dates soon so if people close by are free they can come help me bum it

Should save, sell the 1.4 and buy a 1.6 si

Be easier and get one with good paintwork will save the respray :lol:

What you gonna do once your at the scrapyard? Is it a pick a part or do they remove shizzle for you?

either or mate, if i see a mondeo that suites the description and i want the engine, they will happily rip it apart lol.

well, just had my quote for the increase to my current insurance which ends in august... roughly a Â£370 increase. which tbh is a fair bit lol but i think i can manage to pay that off... so looks like im going through with it

Have you got the money for it all now because you should get started by going to a local motor factors and hand them a list over of the brand new parts you nedd like waterpump etc, if it helps to use a reg to get correct parts then use mine N795 PVC.

Coool my scrappy are a bunch of wankers and wont even move to let you know if they have anything in stock or help you with a bolt or anything lol they'll just tell you whats in the yard and thats it.

Good luck with it all, new cambelt kit and shizzle needed! Even if you need to take it to a garage to get that done! Learn from my mistakes :lol:

suprised you havent sold them yet! also suprised you're still thinking of selling!

i did think about blue louis, but i want a candy colour, but yeah green was my original, just i had someone throw the red idea at me! getting excited about the engine now. as soon as i have that sorted its straight onto the body and wheels so the faster the better. also decided to keep my coilovers and get em sorted. going to get a new bearing that i need from ford then getting the thread on the front drivers side sorted! laughs

well next sixfields can be sorted easy pal ! just depends when it is as the money for this is funding my new daily lol so a trip to peterborough, even though thats 45mins further north than sixfields(which is 2hrs away from me), in the pussy wagon (dads car) may be easier :thumbsup:
