That fiesta is where the money is at.

Nice update on your car Ry, it's nice to see it's being seen to properly and professionally and will come out very well in the end.

Cheers guys.

Yeah, it is worth doing things properly first time around. To brielfy state my long term plans - this year everything around the engine block is being worked on to a high standard (for instance, I've just splashed a fair few hundred quid on a performance Koyo radiator as part of my uprated cooling setup)

Once it's all done and running perfectly, I'm taking the car off road when my next MOT is due and reshelling everything into a mint Ek9 or JDM DC2 shell.

At the same time this guy is going to build my forged bottom end.

Gonna go crazy before I get too old and have too many more responsibilities :D

Either of them shells would be sexual to have all this in. You are literally doing what I would have wanted to do if I went down the honda route years ago. You do know this is going to end up being one hell of a crazy and expensive long term project don't you lol. There's no stopping it now, it literally can only get better and better, and more mental :D

I do love how simple honda engine bays can be, my mates ek9 is literally bare, all the loom is hidden away and everything, looks so simple yet so good.

DC2's are the way forward though, especially the JDM versions. This all makes me want to get a teggy. I thought I got over this years ago :( lol

Not sure tbh Alex.

The head is from my original engine running 11.1:1 and the block is from a civic that runs 10.0:1

Pistons, crank, rods and more besides are different on the B18c4 compared to the B18c6 - both 1800 as Adam said :)

After a bit of research I should be running around a 10.6:1 ratio - putting the c4 bottom end on resulted in me losing around 10 to 15 bhp when N/A.

Yup that was him Terry! Always blame him for me spending all this money as if he wasn't around to source me cheap parts and help me work on the car then I would of sold up by now.

Wanted to keep a better eye on my oil pressure and boost so put this in today.

Image

Can still see when fuel is getting low so that's good  Installing my aftermarket water temp sender and gauge soon so won't need to see the stock water gauge.

Think I'll mount the rest on the drivers side pillar.

Looks good Ry, wanted something similar for the fez but couldn't find one at a decent price.

And it always makes me smile when I see a 8.5k redline :D
