Ok the car has had some work done on it after a while sitting doing nothing.

I took the car along to my friends house yesterday to take the engine out, so here are the first few pics, which really don't show to much other than the tea I drunk before I started!once I find my USB cable for my camers I'll post up the rest(the first few were taken on my phone)

They are not in order I don't think, but you get the idea, its finally out and away sitting in the dirt at my house!when I come back from my holiday I will get the other engine and it will take its place.

The only trouble was getting the drive shafts out as they had been sitting for a while, everything else was fine.

All the wiring is coming oit so it'll get a clean up then, I was going to paint it but really want the engine in, so I am not bothering now.

i might have missed it, whats going to be replacing your old engine?

It was going to be a 2.0 zetec, but now its an escort gti engine with an RS1800 gearbox. I am getting it off of fiestamodder123 as he is breaking his project, I was talking to him the other day. Getting everything for the conversion for £400.

Finally an update, earlier on I went and picked up my new engine for the car along with a few other bits and bobs, so I went down to Gavs house(fiestamodder123) and got stuck in to what he had lying around so I got quite a lot of stuff I didn't expect.....

so I now have....

- 1800 zetec engne, GTI spec 115ps
- all wiring and ECU
- ALL hoses
- radiator(need to pick it up)
- fan
- Anti-roll bar
- 2 litre mondeo injectors
- RS spoiler
- boot release wiring
- 3x electric window motors etc
- both door looms for windows and locking
- .....well alot of other stuff that I cant remember!

I still need to pick up my gearbox as I couldn't fit it in the car. Here are some pics....quite like the idea of a rear engined zetec-s.....












Should get it bolted in soon.

Ok chaps, earlier on today I started to take the engine loom out of the car, and got kinda stuck!it seems everything is attatched to it, lights etc and it looks alot bigger than the loom I ma replacing it with However I started on the engine and cleanec the lower intake manifold up and swapped th 1.8 injectors over with some 2.0 litre ones when I was at it. I also took the cam cover off and gave it a rub down for painting, however I am going to sand blast it as I wasn't pleased with the finish. I then dummy fitted everything onto the intake side and tried my turbo crossover pipe on aswell.


















When I get paid again I will get all new gaskets and new belts etc and give it agood lick of paint before going in the car.

Well I have finally managed to get all the old engine loom and the ECU out of the car for the next phase.....

Then I fitted the new ECU in and fitted the plates back into the bulkhead, gave them a paint before they went in of course.....


















I have also bought a new cambelt kit for the engine and I will be getting the cam cover painted the same colour as the car, with white writing on it.

Not too long to go now!
