didnt you fill in the logbook from the dealer and he gives you a green slip and he sends off the logbook and it comes back to you in your name? it can take a good few weeks but did you fill in the v5 from the person you bought it from? do you a have a receipt? with my white white fiesta i did all that and 4-5 weeks later i got a letter from the dvla telling me the car needed a vic check due to being written off due to being vandalised had the vic checked passed got new v5 a week later

I got a green slip.
I got a reciept
I got 2 MOTs
and in the post I just or the V5C.
Is that all I need? I have a "book" it's a ford one from my last fiesta is that a "log book" ?
Or does it require the paperwork. Or I'm assuming the V5 is the paperwork?

Took the bumper off. Only the crossmember slightly bent. Not bad enough to need changing so it's all ok until maybe ihave some cash to repace it.

the v5 probably hasnt come through yet mate its what the green slip you have came from the owner who sold you the motor would have /should sent there v5 back to the dvla and the new one will be sent too you its can take 3-4 weeks if longer which in my case may mean that it needs a vic check due to a bump but only if it was a recorded shunt and that is often just a vin plate check, just wait for the dvla to send you some post ;) the book you have is just a ford manual not a v5 logbook ;)

You nugget! when I asked if you had the logbook you could have just said its on its way.

As above is there any mention of an accident on it.

As mentioned earlier, make sure its straight and fixed before you do any other mods.

I did not realise what a log book was :D So thats where the misunderstanding was.

I thought it was the "ford book" I had with my old cars with just documents in. Logging the service and MOTs.

The V5 is just to say I owned the car I thought but yeah just seen the special notes bit, Its only has the personalised numberplate change and thats it. So hasn't been written off.

At the moment looking at it the car dosen't pull to any side, nothings wrong with the car generally its just there to protect the radiator in case of a crash and obviously won't do alot if I did crash, but its not vital to change at the moment so won't be til next year as still paying the car off!

Thanks for all your help! Glad I didn't royally screw up

You will find that its part of the defence for you in a crash, if the front end is already weakened then it won't do as well in a crash.

Safety first, get it sorted.

Smack it!

With that it probably does need replacing but it can be a temp fix.

if it doesnt start agian and your on your own with no hill just put it in gear with hand brake off and try pushing it forward and backwards, that sometimes frees the starter motor when stuck, i had ti do all sorts of thing with my van when the starter motor on that kept sticking

on the flywheel, look by the gear box, a metal cylinder follow wires from battery - could be those as well (worth checking connections) smack it with a hammer. :)

I am going to get my dad to take a look with me tommorow. He's an ex mechanic but hates cars now lol but we'll whack it and stuff if it needs it. Just drove it home and it was nasty to drive. Felt lumpy and underpowered. Until I hit 60 and the speedo lights and headlights shone a lot brighter and the car felt normal until I slowed down again.. Then it all went dim

Sounds like a battery/alternator problem, which would give you problems starting.
