Just to finish this topic off, after owning this car for 2 and a bit years and after pretty much completing it, it was time to get something newer as things needed doing to it.

Heres a pic I found of the new owner at a meet with it:

Gotta say I miss it as it turned so many heads(especially when it caught pretty uch every speed bump :doh:), but as I say, things were starting to go on it and besides, I have a new project now :D

they have been serverely ruined by chavs, its the problem, they are quite capable and wekk put together cars, but the amount of times you see one modded to the max by some cheap nasty minded chav it really ruins theyre reputation

so when someone tries to do it right like you seem to, it gets dismissed almost straight away lol

Your right mate to say people slate them as being unreliable and tinny, i've had no problems with mine and i'm more than happy with it, I made sure I chose a looked after example that wasn't too far off standard, anyway i've done a bit more to it as in the last post, and managed to get these pics of it:

The only problem iv known with these is over heating but a decent coolant change helps. Unreliabillty probably comes from them being thrashed because they are heaps of fun in the bends so kinda hard to not boot it lol.

My mates had alot of axle issues with his.

It was that lift off over steer that finished it off lol.

Lift off over steer is basecally the back end coming out, it was more of a peugoet 306 thing but the 106 gti and saxo vtr/s did it aswel, it caught him out on a round about and he went into a high kirb and bent all the axle etc.

when people lower them the hub bearings in the back suffer more than conventional suspension set ups and they just collapse and the wheel suffer tremendous wabble
