Hey, just thought ide share wat my plans are.

Ok so ive finally decided after about a year of having my si, I'm going to go all out on it and spend loads of money on it. Its taken me ages to decide between gettin a discount vw as im a technician there or keep my fezza. I've always been a ford nut so dnt know wat took so long :D
I've dropped the 2litre in wiv tb, maf and ecu so far.
It looks just as i bought it apart from an rst bonnet ive just put on.

I've decided to call it orange project bcoz its my favourite colour and 1 day this bad boy will have it everywhere...
orange cam cover, calipers, samco hoses, interior stitching ;)

I'm quite happy wiv the outcome of the 2litre, especially the noise it makes...PORNOGRAPHY!!!
But nw i fink its time to step things up a bit, future plans are:
-cosworth brakes all round.
-ho inlet
-branch manifold and decat
-superchip
-piper cams, vernier pulleys
-polybushes all round
-optima battery and 150 amp alternator
-front and rear strut braces
-balance lighten bottom end
-cvh stage 3 head
-turbo conversion

and for the looks i just recently saw a pic on here and this is what im aiming for

Image

Accept someone informed me im not sitting low enough for this look, thought i was at 35mm but not sure now. but the xr2i bumpers, skirts and arches matte black, euro wheels and i want a dull orange body :D

This weekend im welding everything and having new sills then spraying the whole underneith so wish me luck!!

Sounds good, but you mention piper cams and later on a turbo conversion (to which the cams would be useless), so surely its best to save the money and either skip the piper cams, or get the cams but not turbo it?

I am looking forward to seeing this one progress.

Its more making up your mind if you are going N/A or forced induction.

There is advantages to both, but you really need to figure which is for you and stick to it.

ZVH is in many respects a budget zetec turbo as you basically run the full RS turbo setup with a zetec bottom end, head work and a remap.

Another thing is to keep it low on price a 1.8 in many respects can be better to use as you can use a decomp plate (the 2.0 isn't up to it).

oh rite, wel i knw this project is gna run me dry at sum point, currently saving for turbo conversion.
Can you run the rs turbo setup and replace with t3?

Ive got a guide bookmarked saying i should use cosworth calibra forged pistons, but do they go into the cvh or zetec?

Yes you could run a T3.

the calibra pistons are for a 2.0 turbo, the engine will need overboring.

I did a lot of research when I planned this but I never got there.

in short a 2.0 turbo gets expensive fast as you need new pistons, a 1.8 can use the stand pistons.

In both cases you can then got for CVH or Zetec head, now you can get more more with a zetec head but you need a lot more work on engine management, if you use the CVH head it will need work doing really so it can but you can maintain standard RS turbo management.

As I say a 1.8 ZVH is the cheapest and can get around 200bhp quite easily. a full on 2.0 zetec turbo can get 300bhp+ but cost a lot more.

Or the above.

If you have the 1.8, its pretty much get a full RS turbo head loom and ECU and of course a turbo.

Past that you need the oil feed for the turbo tapping into the 1.8 block and the compression lowering, this can be done my skimming the pistons or using a decomp plate.

There is a lot of info out there dare I say fiestaturbo.com is a good place for it.

then i suppose i could run the t3 manifold and turbo and use the st170 gasket if i am correct plus the rs head loom and ecu shouldnt be a issue find them
plus what sort of intercooler and stuff extra would i need

i will start new topic for this build to stop spamming this
