After lots of humming and harring, I've finally decided what to do with my two MK2 Fiestas!
I recently bought this
and this,
I was going to build the orange one into a track car, but I want to build something a little (a lot) different and the orange one is better suited than the shell I've got

. So she's giving up all her running gear to go into the shell.
The shell is in really good nick with only front corner of each of the front floor pans needing repair. The previous owner also did me a favour by fitting front arches to the rear which will allow me to run a slightly wider wheel on the back than standard
I've been mainly collecting parts for it the past few months, namely all the suspension panels etc (so I can keep the orange one rolling for now.)
I've finally got some motivation up and now the weathers warming up I've made a start
Basically its going to be a stripped out car running (for now) a 1.6 CVH on bike carbs. The future may see a Zetec under the bonnet but only if I kill the CVH first!!
So first job was to get the shell up on axle stands as she's been sat on a crate for the past four months
Bootlid was a bargain 99p ebay purchase! I also picked up a P/S door for a tenner whilst I was there
I thought I'd get one of the worst jobs out of the way..... stripping all the sound deadening off. Hot air gun worked a treat
Over 5kgs in total
I then mocked up the steering brake assemblies in order for me to determin where to weld in the bucket seat mounts
I've also made lots of little plates to block up (sh*t loads of) various holes I no longer need
I was going to start welding these in today along with starting seam welding the shell but my welder has decided to pack in

(can't complain I've had it for the best part of 12 years), so I need to go shopping for a new one. So I'm afraid thats all for now!
