To be fair the only reason it got a black bonnet is because it poked a van up the arse a few years back and that was all that was in at the breakers at the time. im not overly bothered by it. once i eventually bung it back on 13's and dump a zetec in it, itll just look like a slightly battered old fiesta.

yeah now its getting dangerous im looking for the bits i need to go zetec... and im looking at banded original steelies which i think will set it off much better than the si steels.

as for the 'proper project' not totally sure whats happening with that yet.

Are you running the standard 185/55/14 tyres on the 14" Si steels ?

How does it handle with those on ? I've got RS4 spoke alloys on my mk2 but would prefer to get it back on some steels and I have a set of 14's in the garage

yeah im running 185/55/14s. it handles alright to be honest. but being a 1.1 it doesnt really go fast enough to stress tyres unless theyre the original weight watchers the only thing i will say for the si steels is the offset is shit for a mk2. the rears need spacers to avoid the tyres fouling the innner arch. but thats exagerated by the fact its lowered. and you have to be careful with balance weights on the fronts catching the suspension leg, it really is rather close. for the sake of some wheel spacers its worth doing.
