Thought I'd be aswel start up one of these. I bought this a week ago, so it's the start of my project. I hope in a few years time that I will have replaced or cleaned every part of this car, so this will be a slow moving yet ongoing thread. I will only be doing major things to it once a month or once every couple of months because of money and resources.

Anyway, so far I have debadged it, put on clear black Focus reapeaters and given it the best clean it's ever had by the looks of things.

If you notice in the one above, the front rim, I left a tiny area as dirty as it was for the photo, this is a close up VvV

It has it's problems, theres a hiss from somewhere in the engine that can be heard with the bonnet open and oil in the spark plugs, theres lots of soot coming from the exhaust aswel. I think all of those problems could be coming from a loose seal in the....pistony..bit (the word has completely slipped my mind, I'm tired) and a few tiny bits of corrosion on the body work. Other than that it is in perfect condition. Underside is very clean, new sills, lots of new parts. It's only ever failed one MOT, somebody loved her.

My plan, in no consecutive order:

-The paintwork is chipped all over it and it has been keyed, so I want to touch it all up
-Fix all points of corrosion.
-Get new rims, preferably 16s, maybe 17s.
-Lower it 35mm
-Archwork if needed
-Tint the windows
-Tint the rear lights
-Get angel front lights and brows.
-Change the plastic spoiler to a body coloured one
-Delock it (It already has clifford alarm.)
-Fit single windscreen wiper
-Get splitters and skirts.
-Smooth the bonnet
-Get vents for bonnet

-Fit a K&M Filter
-Clean/replace any major parts
-Get silicon tube covers to tidy the engine a bit.

After my 1st ncb I want a 2ltr mondeo engine in it so I'm not concentrating too much on the engine.

Whadya tink?

By the way, is the front ford badge bolted into the bonnet or is it just glued like the rest? I didn't want to remove it incase I was left with a hole.

The his sounds like a loose vacuum hose or air filter hose or something, could be a gasket failure on the inlet manifold or something. Under what conditions does it hiss? When you rev? On idle? Where does it sound like its coming from?

Also, you said you had oil on the spark plugs.. thats not good, could be an idication that your piston rings are on the way out, or the valve seals are knackered. Does it kick out blue coloured smoke at all? If it does, thats a sign of burning oil. Keep an eye on your oil level.

From what you said, thats what im getting at. I could be wrong, i might have miss understood what your describing.

Anyway, the car looks very nice, did a good job cleaning it! You can do mine now if you want lol. My white wheels are probably as black as what yours was!

The plans you have sound good! Keep us updated :)

I thought you'd cleaned it! No wheels off, sparkling arch pictures? Pff. Sort it out!

:nerd:

Dave. It's a 16v as it's got the bigger seats in it.

What wheels are they on it? Look like OZ F1s but I'm guessing not.

I got quoted today how much it will cost to get rid of my buckfast crew logo... £250+ :frown:

I figured maybe I can add a few more scratches around it, put some red polish through it and pass it off a crew vinyl, nobody would tell the difference. :hmm:

Or maybe not.

By the way, I got light brows in the post today and with them came strips of sticky backed velcro. Are they really expecting me to velcro them on?? That doesn't seem right to me.

Hey mate, I tried to pm you but my pms just seem to get stuck in my outbox.

I do want those Angel Eyes off of you but I'm not keen on paying £55 for them. I'll offer you £45 for them, thats £25 for the lights and £20 for the postage, which I think is fair.

Cheers
