Hi everyone. I'm new here (hopefully this is fine where I've posted it). I'm about to pick up my Si this weekend as I decided I needed something a bit more powerful then my L reg 1.1 Fiesta (my first car and the reason I love fiestas)
Went to look at it saturday just gone and was very pleased with it. Very tidy little car with very little rust and 1 spot of welding on the N/S back wheel arch. Paid a bit more for it then others I've seen but it has all receipts, MOT certificates and service history since 96 and has been serviced every 8000 miles. Its clocked up 80k but sounds sweet on start up. 1.4 8v engine.
Also getting his amp, sub and DVD player (the one with the screens in the dash) plus 3 spare tyres and and the original rear lights, not got the original backbox but has a silencer for the backbox on it so its got a nice sound. Just had new brake discs and pads put on it on the 16th of this month. Paid 850 for it.

Gotta say I loved it the instant I saw it :halo:
Now to sort insurance out, pick this up and sell the 1.1 sad to see that go as its such a sweet runner. Never let me down in the miles I've driven it.

Planning on changing the orange side indicators to clear ones not orange. Also gonna T-cut the area that has been welded and get a better match paint wise. I've seen some wing back seats and door cards from a 1.6 Si for 50 might get those to go in the car. Also gonna fix the electric boot opening button (easily done the connection in the boot isn't being made 2 second fix) Not sure what else to do with it as its had a lot done to it already.

ah no didnt check under those rubbers. That one escaped my look. I'll have to check them saturday. Did look over the arches, the door seals and the platform the battery is sitting on (which has a tiny rust spot on the corner) and all is ok there.

I'm getting the original lights with the car as well, so I can choose but I think the lexus ones don't look terrible.

I don't know who Fisher 09 is, he from sevenoaks?

yeah I've seen them done on another 1.4 and they do look the business.
The car is in better condition then my own, and its done 20k more then mine :D
Its the engine sound that did it when I started it up, first turn of the key no knocking etc it purred, so nice.

I'll ask him when I see him at the weekend, if he looks at me like I'm mad then I know probably not :lolz:

with the interior mainly. Wanna get some wingback seats as I gotta say I love them (with rear and doorcards)
Also thinking about replacing the DVD player with the sony one as I prefer having a removable fasceplate (the ripspeed one doest have that)
Sort the patch of paintowrk by the welding out to get the outside looking mint. I think that'll be a call to the uncle lol.
changing the side repeaters to clear rather then orange, I've also been looking at some wing mirrors that wire into the side repeaters so they have the indicator on the wing mirror 50/50 on that one.
I'll also be deciding on what rear lights i prefer. I think at the moment the lexus ones will be staying in it.

Hmm sounds interesting, once I get the car and start my new job I'll definatly have to look into your wingbacks. Hopefully you'll still have them by then :)

Wonder if anyone can help me. Once I get this car I'm going to be selling my 1.1 mk3 Fiesta.
What kind of price should I ask for it.

Its recently had:
New battery
New cat
UJ was recently rebuilt (as it had seized up)
Shoes and something else replaced at the back (brakes were fecked)
MOTs dating back from when it was first MOTed.
Loads of reciepts of work done by me and brother in law (who owned car before me)
Brought a new spare for it which is in the boot.
Its got upgraded speakers in it but I'll be buggered if I know what they are as I took them from my brothers golf before he sold it on. They sound very good even without a sub.
Theres very little rust, only patch I've found is a 50p sized patch by the back N/S wheel-arch. Its clean below though.
MOTed till march 2010
taxed till march 2010
Its covered 67500 miles (at this point in time might go up by another 30 or so before the new car)

Bad things are
Needs a new drivers wing mirror as the mirror is cracked but it has passed its MOT with this wing mirror + crack
New wing mirror will cost £20 (as I've already replaced the passenger one that someone kindly removed for me one night)
Front bumper needs replacing as again that got kicked by some drunk who ran off when he realised my dad was behind him  been quoted £40 for that, whole bumper
Small chip in windscreen on passenger side (has passed its MOT with this chip in it)
Scratch from some bint outside morrisons on the passenger side. Just needs the paint touched up.
Ah stone chips on the bonnet lid (plus some bugs if ya like that :D)

Engine still runs sweet. Better now I brought some decent oil for it. Been serviced by me and my dad recently as its covered 7k since its last one.
Hasn't missed a beat in the year I've owned it. Always enjoyed the shocked look that I see from people when I pull away quicker then them in this little old fiesta, its very nippy. First car so I'm quite attached to it, but clueless as to what its worth.

Anyway no more blabbering on, how much you think I should ask for it as a starting offer?

Well thats more then I was expecting but 2 other people have said to ask for that much for it.
Quite pleased seeing as I got it as a gift and in total what i spent on it is about that :D
Now to clean it up and get some photos of it. Either that or do as my brother did and stick it outside my house near the station. That'll sell it quickly (his golf was a munter and he got 700 for it within 2 days)

Well been out in my new 1.4Si its so much quicker then my old 1.1

Had to have new front tyres put on also flushed the engine coolant system through and put in fresh coolant (as all that was in it was water) the coolant was flourescent pink :hsugh: also sorted the oil and windscreen wash.
Also took out the old ripspeed DVD player and replaced it with a pioneer stereo  My brother brought the ripspeed one off me for 100
I've had to rearrange the wires at the front of the car under the dash as it was a bit hectic. Tomorrow its car wash time. Give it a nice was and wax and I brought some T-cut for a few patches on the car that need a look at.

It sounds so nice driving. The exhaust is a bit loud for me so I'll probably end up restoring that back to an original one. I've had to mess about with the sub and amp a bit as it was also too much for me. It was so loud all you heard was the bass not even the music, sorted now though :halo:
