Still not got the pictures.

Currently arranging the option of running megasquirt as I cant find the correct ecu in time, so I might as well go the megasquirt route and make it run to its potential!

CHANGE OF PLAN!

Well, I have the chance to buy the RS1800 car my engine came out of due to the guy not wanting to continue his project with it.. So the plan is to buy it, stick the RS1800 engine back into it freshly painted, megasquirt it up and run around in that.

DO NO PANIC!

I will not be giving up on the current project!

I am going to finish the work on it, and either 2.0ltr it or 1.8 ZT budget engine and have it stripped out. But I am going to take my time on this :)

Well after getting the RS1800 and putting the engine back in that, and using that as my car now, I havent got around to doing what I wanted to this Si.

Now I have some plans bodywise..

I have a smooth boot but I don't really fancy having one again and a zs rear, as I want something different.

So the plan now..

xr front bumper
xr skirts/arches
zs rear smoothed in
normal bootlid

I have made a mock up of how I want the zs rear smoothed:

I'm toying with the idea of it now, I think it would look quite good, and different, need a bigger exhaust out the back of it tho, as that 3inch looks tiny.

The plan of attack!

Soon as the RS1800 has its new suspension fitted, the old suspension will be moved along for the Si, which means I can get it rolling around so I can sort the bits out on it.

# Sort the rear arches out, either fix myself and see what happens, or weld in new panels.

# If the arches are sorted without new panels that means I can go nd spray the xr kit and fit it, not worrying too much about a full respray!

# Fit the drivers side wing, and get that sprayed.

# Get a bonnet sprayed and fit that also.

# Do general rust attack work on front and rear valance

# Give some attension to a sill which has been dented in a little due to jacking up.

# Smooth the ZS rear bumper, then get it sprayed.

# Get a bootlid sprayed up and fitted

# Do general tidying up under the car and in the arches, painting, undersealing etc


Because the bodywork isnt in such bad condition, if I can get the arches done it would mean I wont need a respray, meaning I can leave it as is, and one day if I feel like it get it sprayed up.

If I manage to get all this work done in my spare time to give me something to do, I will try source some type of engine, I am toying with the idea of an RST lump, 2.0ltr zetec, or building a 1.8ZT as per the budget ZT guide.

This overall in the end means I can either keep it and have the RS1800 also, or just sell it. As I don't fancy getting rid of the RS.
So by saying that I may as well get a turbo engine built and use it every now and then? who knows :lol:


Although a part of me says, keep it standard looking and be simple.. its a hard choice!

Wouldnt mind having standard fiesta bumpers on it and making it a proper sleeper too. Choices Choices!!
