Just take your time and keep coats very thin, and wait for stuff to dry before putting on the next one, This will help prevent runs as the paint will never be too wet. Also try to keep paint 'active' by shaking the can often. Lacquer is a pain, as you'll generally be itching to have it finished and start to rush things. I speak from experience. Remember lacquer takes longer to set than paint, so give it even more time, even when it feels dry it can still be soft so don't apply pressure to it. Otherwise you will end up with an imprint and will have sand back pretty far to fix it. My other tip would be try to get hold of a 'spare' version of whatever part your colour coding. That way you can have one on the car and another being painted. That way you can take as long as you need without losing the use of you car. Good luck. ![]() |
