Disconnect the battery for a few hours, this will reset your ECU so it will have to re-learn a few things, once you plug it back in thrash it a bit, this way the ECU will fuel better later in life. ![]() |

If done properly cone filters (and not cheap Max Power jobbies) are fine. Tell me the basics of any engine! Get cold, denser air mixed in with with your fuel when it's ignited. More air, more flame, more power. Cold air being denser means there is more air going in. So, the logic of it is sound. A cone filter allows more air into the engine. My air filter is a Mine's K&N one on the Pulsar. Who's going to argue with Mine's? The problem is that the practice of installing an air filter isn't always done correctly, which is why they suffer from heat soak really bad, and therefore get a bad reputation. If done properly then they work. Like this: ![]() ![]() Cold air straight to it, and blocked off from most the surrounding heat from the engine. Funny though, from a filter and exhaust I got nearly 20bhp more than standard on a 15 year old car... |

That's one of the lads on the Pulsar forum. He's using the brake duct as a duct for the air filter, and channelling some air for the brakes from elsewhere. ![]() |
