I read the fault codes on my car for the first time the other day... Theres 2 tests you can do. Key On Engine Off (KOEO) and Key On Engine Running (KOER). It's all explained here: I managed to read the codes from following them steps first time. It's pretty simple, you just have to concentrate because it's quite easy to miss a flash! If I'm right, KOEO gives the codes that are stored in the ECU. KOER gives the codes as and when they are being processed. You need to use KOER for sensors like MAF, ISCV, TPS etc as these only work with the engine running, not just the ignition on. |
